DW: Sting of the Zygons

Hey Guys,

welcome the 13th adventure of the New Adventure Book Series ‘Sting of the Zygons’ with the tenth Doctor and Martha Jones. The enemies in this book is obviously the Zygons. I got as part of the Monster Collection. The TARDIS lands on the 16th September 1909. They stay at least for three days. For Martha it is some point after Daleks in Manhattan/Evolution of the Daleks.

Zygons

I never was a big fan of these particular monsters. This book doesn’t change it. The thought that they can take any form might be a little unsettling. They are planner and strategic what makes them more dangerous than a lot of other enemies of the Doctor. In ‘Sting of the Zygons’ how ever we see a little different side of the Zygons than before. We learn how desperation looks on them.

Zygons and the hunters

The monster of the Zygons the Skarasen goes lose and kill a lot of humans and a second one is found dead. The Doctor and Martha arrive shortly after these events. They found also a dead Zygon. Maybe an alien hunter is out their hunting the Zygons down. But what ever it is the Doctor has to find out.

The little Ian

Like always the Doctor and Martha make a lot of friends really fast and get thrown out be as much people too. I loved the most Martha’s little friend Ian. Martha has to fight in this time to be taken seriously and all man want to put her on the side lines. But we all know Martha and she never just sits on the sideline. Ian is a young boy who don’t care for this world views. He likes Martha and the get on really well and fast.
Ian is putting himself in danger all the time. I am not even sure that he gets the danger he is in most of the time. But he trusts Martha is always there to help her out. It is really sweet how this two always save each other.

Reading or not

The book is not bad but it is not good either. I don’t like the story very much and the monster are not my thing. The characters except for Ian are not so sympatric. There are a few fun scenes but it is just my book.

DW: Agent Provocateur

Hey Guys,

welcome to the IDW DW mini-series #1 ‘Agent Provocateur’ with the tenth Doctor and Martha. While I love Manga I always had my problems with comics. One of the problems is the drawing. I would never say that this comics is bad drawing but it is not my style. I bought a bunch of comics a while ago. For just one story and I don’t even remember which story. Now that we all have a lot of time at hand. I start to read them.
‘Agent Provocateur’ plays in three different times and a lot of different places. We have the 1957, 1974 and 4.999.999.999.

Best milkshake

The Doctor is still trying to give Martha the best milk shake ever when they ran into a Sycorax who hunts for the last of their kinds. So the Doctor as the last of the Time Lords is obviously on the list. This is where the story starts.
Truth be told I couldn’t follow what this story has to do with rest of the story. We find out that on a few planets the whole population except one individual disappeared.

What is going on

My biggest problem with the story was that I didn’t get the jumps. From were the one chapter ended and the next began. Sometime it gets explained later and I think ahh.. that is why it starts there but other times I still don’t get it. Maybe it is just me or I was to sleepy to understand it. The story was not bad it remembered me a little of the end of season 4 with the aliment planets.
The interesting part is actually this group of creatures that are trying to manipulated the events around the Doctor.

The end of this story lets somethings open and I think at we will see a few of the characters again at some time. Maybe I even have some of them. I will see what I find in my bundle of comics.

Torchwood ‘Lost Souls’

Hey,

so i started to hear audio plays because of Torchwood. To be excat because of the season 3 ‘Children of Earth’. After the end i needed more Ianto, so much more Ianto. It is also the reason i started to look Doctor Who. Just because of Ianto. You are totally right Ianto is my favorite character.

So the sad thing is that the radio plays started after the season 2. That means Tosh and Owen are already dead. So we have just Ianto, Jack and Gwen. ‘Lost Souls’ is the first radio play and has a special guest Martha Jones. It is really good to meet her again. She asked Torchwood for help, because at this instution vanished people.

Martha used the time with them to talk about Tosh and Owen. Also Lisa get mentioned. So yeah it is a story about the lost ones, about death… So the story is a nice one but there are totally better ones.
