DW: Ripper’s Curse

Hey Guys,

welcome to the IDW DW Vol 2 ‘Ripper’s Curse’ with the eleventh Doctor, Amy and Rory. This story takes place at the 30th September 1888 and 9th November 1888. Like the name says it is about Jack the Ripper. The story goes over three chapters. What I like the most about this story are the drawings. I really like the style.

A typical Ripper case

Jack the ripper is a really interesting murder case. There are so many different takes on what happened and who he murder was. I think almost everyone had seen the movie with Johnny Depp ‘From Hell’ but this is just one of the many movies, series and books that had used the mysteries around Jack the Ripper. Now it is Doctor Who turn and sadly I am disappointed.

I don’t to say much about the story of this comic. Because everyone know the story. The Doctor, Amy and Rory arrive when the third victim was found. The Doctor actually find out really fast what is going on. There is no investigation to find out found is going on. They just throw a few names around. Also the dilemma of letting a person die to protect the bigger picture… to protect the web of time, doesn’t have a big role.

The don’t take time to explore this feeling of guilt or the consequences Amy’s interference had. No they just let it slide with sometime times just heals themself. I had hoped for something like in the episode ‘Rosa’. That you actually see and feel the emotions the regret, the curse of doing nothing. Sadly nothing of it comes here into play. The ripper case is closed.

Sadly for it wasn’t the best take on this story. I have seen a lot better versions. But did I told you how amazing the drawings are? They are really lovely.

DW: Body Snatched

Hey Guys,

welcome to the IDW DW Vol. 2 #10-11 ‘Body Snatched with the 11th Doctor, Amy and Rory. It takes place around 4211. It is a really short story. It has 2 chapters a 24 sides. The story remembers me of Walking dead or Residant Evil… stuff that goes in that direction.

The Ponds and the Doctor

I have a lot of problems with this story. But it is not just the story. It is also the problems that I had most times with these three. The Doctor is always ignore Rory or says something to make him feel small. On the other hand he is all over Amy. Amy can do everything. I really hate the Williams/Pond thing. So the relationship between the Doctor and the two of them is like it was in the series.. annoying.
The other thing is Rory. I love Rory and this would have been a really great opportunity for Rory to shine but instead all he does is doing what he always does – love Amy. It is amazing who much he loves her and it is great that they show it here – even when in the end they make fun of him. But he is so much more. He is more than Amy.

Living Broccoli

The next thing is the story itself. The humans grow bodies with enough intelligent to work but not enough to rebel. They just live for 50 years than the brain dies but the body lives on. Of course someone is there to use this for something different. But what I don’t like about the story. That nobody says anything against this. The humans grow themself slaves with a conscious. But it is not even addressed how wrong this is. No instead the Doctor runs around and calls them broccoli and Vegetables. Hey let’s grow some slaves it is okay to do this because we grow them… yeah… definitely don’t like this part of the story.

DW: The Girl who loved Doctor Who

Hey Guys,

I couldn’t resist and bought me bundle of digital comics of Doctor Who on Humble Bundle and one of the comics were ‘The Girl who loved Doctor Who. This comic is with the 11th Doctor. It is a titan comic by Paul Cornell and drawn by Jimmy Broxton. The Story is 40 pages long and is a story stands alone. It takes place somewhere after the goodbye of Amy and he doesn’t have a new companion yet. So it is somewhere before Clara or when he already met her but not traveled with full time.

Thats how the story goes…

The story is quite easy and actually nice. The Doctor has again problems with his TARDIS and lands in a parrallel universe. This parallel universe is our real world, where the Doctor is just a story, a TV-Show. Everyone is thinking of him as Matt Smith. There is a 10 year old girl, which met him and take him home to show him everything. She is angry with him because she knows the Doctor is not real and want that Matt Smith stops playing. This girl is a full time fan. Because she watched and have every episode of Doctor Who even the classics. Of course there is monster and also the little girl gets bullied by a few boys.

Reading or not

You can read it. The story is sweet and nice. But it is nothing more than that. The story is not really deep. I mean the plot is promising and could have been really deep about facing your problems and things like that, but it isn’t. This story could be alot better when they got deeper into it. Also i have a problem with the drawings. Truth be told i like the Manga drawings and Comic drawings are quite different. But here my biggest problem is that this girl doesn’t look like 10 years… she looks so much older at times and i really dislike it. But that is just my taste.

DW: 50th anniversary special

Hey Guys,
i rewatched the 50th anniversary special. When i watched it for the first time i kinda liked it. It was one of the better episodes but i never say it as an anniversary special…there was nothing really special… it could have been any episode… but know many thing i dislike now…

Three Doctors

I love to see David Tennant again as the Doctor. He is my favorite Doctor and always was. John Hurt is an amazing Doctor and i would have loved to see more of him. But this is just a celebration of the last years… not of all 50th years…This special shows me why i love David and why i dislike Matts Doctor so much… the Doctor forgets… i just forgets how many people he had killed. He don’t have to live with that fault like the tenth Doctor did. But how could he forget…moving on is a good thing, but forgetting not.

Bad Wolf

I am really happy that they didn’t bring Rose back, but Billie Piper. She is amazing and i love her as the Bad Wolf trying to stop the Doctor. I love how she interact and is looking at him. It is like in a way she is Rose but not the real Rose. Bring the real Rose back would have distroyed everything.

Two storys

It is for one the story of the Doctor making the decision to sacrifice Gallifrey and the story of the invasion of the Zygons. The Zygon story is not the best, but it have their moments and totally works for what it should do. But the Gallifrey story is now really bussering me. I don’t have a problem with bringing Gallifrey back. I love to see other timelords again. Of seeing Romana again. Time Lords are the best enemies ever. My problem is not even that they take that decision the ninth and the tenth Doctor have to live with from them. But watching this season before the special, makes me hate it. Because the whole season with Clara is a big friendly buttom. Nothing the Doctor does have consequenzes. He can save them, save all of them. no consequenzes. Never…

Clara and the other things…

I hate what Clara tells the eleventh Doctor. The warrior, the hero and the Doctor. That is stupid everyone of them is the Doctor. The tenth Doctor wasn’t a hero. He never was and if anyone thing about him like that, i think that they miss understood him. He was a god… a lonely god. Which makes decisions about life and death, he was someone, who thought of himself as a god, which can is own rules. He wasn’t a hero.
Also not everyone can be a hero… this is stupid a hero.. isn’t an easy think.
Also i hate the picture they are drawing of the Doctor. He always finds another way, he always saves everyone… that is not true. The first Doctor doesn’t even care about what happend to Ian and Barbara… He just thought about himself. How often did the Doctor destroyed the Daleks or did murder a race? He did it. This sacrificing Gallifrey is something the Doctor would do, can do, and did do. It is only logic for him. Everyone that thinks the Doctor could never do say a decision should watch Doctor Who again. Pompeji is only one example and when you now tell me this is something just RT Davis did, than i can only tell you watch the classic. He always did this thing.

DW: Season 7

Hey,
i just rewatch the seventh season of Doctor Who. The season that made want to give up on this serie. The season i fought me through almost every episode just because it is Doctor Who. For everyone that find the season good i am sorry, but for me it was bad so, so, so bad. It was the worth Doctor Who season ever. The rewatch don’t make it better… it make it worse to telling the truth.

First Part

The first part of this season is all about Amy and Rory. I was so excited for the first episode, because Daleks and than that… Amy and Rory want to get divorced can it come worse… yeah the episode is just so bad… that is real life and at the end everything is back to the perfect little life they had. Not just the first episode in every episode i have the feeling that there is no love for the characters anymore. There is character developement, and the don’t get time to shine. They just there so the Doctor can look good. This fight between Amy and Rory this could have been something great, something that they can fight for. We could have seen them proving themself to each other and not just erasing it like it never happend.

The only not bad episodes are ‘Dinosaurs on a spaceship’ and ‘the power of three’ but you just can look to close. The power of three is not logical at all, but everything else is good. Why i like the dinosaurs on the spaceship is a thing that i totally miss on Doctor Who. A group of people so different that have to interact with each other. I am still thing what a great season we could have with them as companions.

Amelias Last Goodbye

This episode could have been so good. The Weaping Angels and a big dramatic final for this amazing pair. I am truthfull i also cried by the rewatch but it could have been so much better. If the angels where just like ever and when the statue of liberty would have moved… what the fuck?!
Why had they showed this as a tragic end, why must the doctor so childish and imature to see that as losing? Amy and Rory are living a good life, a happy life, that is an happy end. They would have stopped traveling with the Doctor, they almost did the last time and we all know the Doctor stays never when they stop traveling with him. Never. He left Jo, when she got married, he never visited Ian or Barbara or even Susan.

Clara Oswin Oswad

I liked Clara a lot in Asylum of the Daleks and she was fun in the really boring Christmas Special. She is an nice character and i was really happy that she would become the Doctors Companion. I thought she become a little after Zoe. But than the first really episode came with her and Moffats takes all that away. All that knowledge she has was just a gift from her time uploaded…not herself. Also after that we don’t she her use any of it. She is just like every other companion in the new Who…doing what the Doctor expacts.
I just wanted a companion like Zoe. Which is more intelligent than the Doctor, one that things faster than him, just someone that totally can win a fight with him.

The second part

Is much worse…Clara is nice to see and they are many good ideas in it. The second episode is with the singing emotional, but the story isn’t really good. I am not a big fan of the eleventh Doctor but in that part will dislike him even more. All that impossible girl talk, all that why are you special. She is special. She is special because she is just a totally normal person. An ordinary girl with choose to travel with a stranger, which wants to see adventures, a girl that don’t run, a girl that stops and fight, a girl we see struggle with the death she is seeing. That is what makes her special and the Doctor never understand that is what makes her special not that he met her three times.

Old enimies…

The ice warrior is back. What lovely monsters they are. Than the bring them back and make everything they are wrong? Why bring him back, if you change everything? A icewarrior that left his shell and is super fast? A icewarrior you reason with. He is a warhero. An icewarrior of a team they wanted war, they loved war. When the Doctor tries to reason with him, if he wants to be know as the destroyer of earth the answer would be yes. That is what the icewarriors were. That is why the Doctor don’t like them, that is why the Doctor never believed the started peace.
So we have Daleks, Ice Warrior and that is not enough… lets make a bad story about cybermen… Cybermen that are fast and upgraded so fast… it was stupid and not scary… I dislike everything in that episode. The cybermen. The Doctor and the way he fights with the cybermen…it is nice to see all the faces but that is the only thing. Also i dislike Clara here a lot. The Doctor is at fault that the children are in danger and she just accept it? He has a time maschine. He could have brought them home and than came back. But no lets bring the kids in danger and Clara is jsut standing there and says okay. She just let him search for them and became a warrior… that is not Clara… not the Clara i like…she don’t struggle anymore.

The final

It is not so bad, but they are a few points that are stupid… and i don’t talk about the Great Intellegent stuff(which still don’t remember) that was totally stupid. I like the idea with Clara, because that is something Clara would do. But i hate that the whole season is a big friendly button. Nothing in that season has consequenzes. Jenny dead, but that Strax bring her back. Than Strax and Jenny dead again and they come back to life. Clara springs in that time stream to die but of course the Doctor brings her back. The Doctor should never visited Tranzalore but it just have no consequenzes…
Also i dislike that final wasn’t a final. It just was a prologe to the 50th anniversary special.

DW: Season 6

So guys,
i just watched with my father the sixth season. My father is like me and don’t like the eleventh Doctor very much. They are only two things i really like is that they are more companions in the TARDIS a little more like the classic who and Rory. Rory is a really good. His story is really annoying and it is also one of my biggest bad points of not just the season 6 also season 5. Rorys Deaths… First of all why did he have to die? Everytime he dies it loose effect and i don’t be afraid to loose a character in the seasons because. They will just come back – like really bad fairytails…

Second i hate it who the choose to make fun of a really ernest theme. Death is not fun, death is nothing that should loose weight. It is important to talk about it, to show it, but not make not important anymore. That is something i really can’t work with.

So i am not a fan of Amy and i don’t like the did she mean the doctor or rory play. Yeah, she loves Rory but because of how she talk and so you just forget it. Because everything is about the Doctor and Rorys life is just about Amy, that is why many people don’t see what good character he is. Than there is this big death of the Doctor and everyone knows he can’t die there and there is this mystery about the murderer of the Doctor. For me that is totally not logic. Everything with the Doctor and River timeline seems in the serie not quiete right.

Do we actually have to talk about the River Story, because i hate the mystery behind it. It is not really the fact that she is their daughter. What i really have a problem with, that the gave her up and i don’t care what arguments you have. Rory and Amy gave her daughter up. They know that a crazy woman as their child and that she raise it to a murderer. They know that she will not have a pleasent life and they just stop searching for her. I am not a mother but i can say, not even the Doctor could stop me to search for my child as long as i find it. I will not just let it be, will not just forgive the Doctor… Sorry that is something that is impossible for me to understand and i think that Amy and Rory are characters, who would never do that… for me this seems really out of character.

But this season as also one really good episode. It is actually my favorite of this season: ‘The girl who waited’. I like what the make out of Amy. She can protect herself and she don’t need the Doctor. Actually she stopped waiting and that is really important. You see that she hate the Doctor for leaving her but she never hate Rory. For me this episode is really important to understand more about Amy and Rory and also about Rory and the Doctor. Rory is a sweet guy, who want to save everyone, who can’t lie and just want to believe that the Doctor tells the truth.

Amy sees all the good and important side of the Doctor, but Rory sees the other sides and that is important too. Because the Doctor is not good and didn’t save everyone. He makes bad decisions. That is how life works. The Doctor let Rory choose in the end. But he doesn’t really have a choice. This scene just broke my heart.

So the last three episode of the season are not mine. The God Complex is not bad, but there are a few things that are not my thing. Because the episode is about fear and faith. Also with Amys faith to the Doctor. Yes i think the Doctor is right. Amy thinks about him as a hero and he isn’t a hero. But you can just lose the faith in him in a few minutes because he told you what he thinks about themself. It was his fault what happends to her daughter and that they didn’t find her. But she not  stop believing in him. That is not so easy…

I don’t like the final. Because it is amazing how important you can make this stupid guy that just keep runing. He is not so important. There isn’t a whole universe, the whole everything circling around him. I don’t like it how the Doctor get pushed higher and higher. Also i don’t like how they disrespect what perfect persons his companions becoming. Look at how strong Rose is becoming. She is a strong independant woman who can grow old with a men she loved – not like she thinks but when did it happen like that?! Martha is also very strong. She is a medic how works at UNIT and than she is indenpantent. She is really amazing. She choosed to leave the Doctor on her on therms. She has a good life and Donna is also having a good life. Donna is a companion how really lost something because of the Doctor, but if she could remember she would never ever give him the fault. Because that is life. I really hate it…the Doctor don’t break them. He isn’t doing something bad to him.

So, before my father and i will watch season 7. We start watching Torchwood 4. So you will find my opinion here 😉
