Kuroko no Basket

Hey Guys,

welcome to my not so popular opinion about Kuroko no Basket. Every where I looked people say that this is an amazing series and the best sport anime ever… Yeah… definitely not. I was really disappointed and thought about stop watching all the time. So for the information I watched all three seasons and so obviously it is not so bad.

Sport or Fantasy

The first reason I am not a fan of Kuroko no Basket are all the special powers the 6 miracles have. Let’s start at the beginning. The middle school Teiko had a legendary Basketball club. They won all games and get to be known as the generation of miracles because they are so much better than any other talented player. This was the first were I thought okay maybe I should watch something different…
The story is about the sixth man of the generation of miracles the phantom player Kuroko. Apparently he has so the little presences that people just over look him and forget him in no time. The people on the court are asking them if the player actually was on the court. Which makes him amazingly good in passes…
So like this it goes on. So every member of the generation of miracles has one ability like that. For me it is too much. Yes let them be better than anyone… but they are so overdramatic and for my liking to much in the direction of fantasy.
All of these sixth members chose different high school and are now all enemies. All the other miracles chose schools with good basketball clubs and Kuroko is the only one chosing a little school nobody really knows about.

Kuroko the only exception

All the miracles believe that they are so good that they don’t need another player to win. Kuroko is the exception. He believes that basketball is a team sport and want to prove this by defeating the other miracles. Here cames the reason I stayed with the series. He chooses a light. Kagami is a really talented basketball player who wants to defeat the miracles just because they seem strong. The relationship that developes between Kagami and Kuroko is really amazing. I love their friendship how the help each other and save each other from theirselves. These two and their team – with filled with great and sympatric characters – starting their fight against the miracles. This team is so sweet that you wish them that they win.

But here is also a point I dislike. This playing with injuries. Choosing basketball over getting healed… I hate that this series tells you it is okay to play with bad injuries. It is not okay and when you are injured you should stop playing. Animes should tell other that this is okay. This is destroying your body and we shouldn’t teach that to our children.

The other miracles

There were a second reason to watch the show ’till the end and that was ‘Kikasa’ – Kise Ryouta and Kasamatsu Yukio. Kise is one of the miracles and one of the best characters when he actually start accepting his team and the reason behind it is his captain Kasamatsu. Yes I totally watched the last season only for scenes with them. I love these two.

Elementary: Season 5

Hey Guys,

I was so happy when Netflix finally had season 5 of Elementary. Like you know when you read my post before (click here for the other article) I love Elementary. The last season was great and I really had high hopes for this season. Some people may already have a feeling what i will say. Season 5 sadly didn’t match my expectation. Of course it was still great but something was missing.

Something Missing

I hate that feeling, when you watch a series and the characters are amazing and the stories are good and you totally in love with the series but somehow the new episodes are still with the amazing characters and still have good stories but they just don’t get you like before. Something is missing. That is what happened here. They are still the characters I love and somehow it feels wrong.
There are to points I actually dislike. First is that at one point Sherlock stopped going to the meetings… and I had the feeling that we were already over that point but before got annoying they let Sherlock see the light.
The second point is the sudden end of a relationship. I don’t think that the breakup is out of character or anything it is that it just came out of the blue.

Dream Team Bell/Sherlock

What I love the most about this season of Elementary are the Bell/Sherlock episodes. They are amazing. I always love when these two work together or their bond deepens. It is beautiful to see how their bond grows and how the open up to each other. I love Joan and Sherlock. But Sherlock built his life around her it is not longer unusual when he opens up to her… it is still beautiful to see the deep trust between Sherlock and Joan. But you know that Sherlock in the end will always tell Joan the truth.
I also love Joan and Marcus. They have a beautiful friendship. Joan will stand up and fight for Marcus and nobody everything something different. When he has problems and she asked about it he most likely will tell her.
But with Sherlock and Marcus things are different. They were in a very rocky place a long time in season two (Elementary S02) but they rebuilt their relationship and I find it really beautiful to see these two persons try to get along, to treat each other with respect and trust.
There are really good episodes in this season. One of the episodes is an episode with them in the last part of the season. We get more about Marcus past.

Joan needs to help

I really like it that they bring up that something is missing for Joan. She was a doctor and then a drug consult (I can’t find the right word), all the job it was about helping people. As a detective things are a little different. The person she made after that her project on the other hand is not really interesting. Shinwell is not really sympathetic or exciting. Just a little boring. But it brings Sherlock in an interesting spot. What would he do for people he believes in or Joan believes in. What would he do for the things he thinks ar justice.
Also it kinda puts Sherlock and Joan on different sides and I really love to see this work out.

Still special

So yes this season of Elementary is totally lacking on a interesting overall story and it just lost something of his magic. But the season was still good. The characters are still amazing and the relationship are still the most important thing in the series. So yeah I still loved the season… and really with that ending. I want the next season really fast, please.

The Resident: First Episodes

Hey Guys,

I looked into the new serie ‘The Resident’. First things first I hate hospital series or better medical series. I don’t know why but they are not my thing. That is actually one of the reason I haven’t started Chicago Meds yet. The reason why never looked more than the first few episode of Saving Hope. It is just not mine. So why do I looked into these serie?
Logan Huntzberger… or better Matt Czuchry.

No that this is sad let’s talk about the serie itself.

Never want to see a Doctor again

The Resident doesn’t do anything new. They are old same stories, but it feels a lot more realistic than others. The best surgeon on the hospital will get you killed because he has a tremble in his hand. The alleged good doctor is an angel of death. In all this comes a young Doctor with all that believes in Medicine and morality… but there is none.
Conrad the ‘good Doctor’ played by Matt Czuchry. Is totally my favorite character. But like i said. He is the good one when it comes to… he really wants to help people. He really wants to heal them, to save them. But to do this he has no borders, no morality. It doesn’t seem so bad because they have these asshole surgeon. But I really hope that this will be a theme of the serie.
They have a few really good characters, we will see what they will do with them.

Watching or not

Like I already said. The Resident didn’t invent the wheel. It is the same old story, the same old characters. But Matt Czuchry does really, really charming. It can be a good serie if they whole this path they are on. But it also could be very boring. Normally I wouldn’t watch more episodes, but I really love to Matt Czuchry again. So I will watch the episode. We will see.

DW: Twice upon a time

Hey Guys,

i finally watched the Christmas Special of Doctor Who – Twice upon a Time. There are many reason that i didn’t watched it before. At first i just forgot my Laptop so i could watch at my parents. Than a friend wrote me that her friend watched and she said that it was full of misogynist jokes. So i just didn’t watch it. Also i had alot of fears about this story and Moffats made them all real.

My favorite Doctor

Truth be told when i got be asked who my favorite Doctor is i still say it is the Tenth Doctor but i love the first one. He was soo different and grumpy and old. He was just not nice. Hartnell was perfect in this role and i was really afraid of what Moffats will do to him. First i think the Actor David Bradley did a really good job. But the way he has written… oh my god… now i hate the first Doctor. In this christmas special he is an misogynist asshole… the jokes are funny. The words ‘young lady’ feel like a … i am missing the word…

The first Doctor was an grumpy old man. Yes but he never talked to Barbara that way. He never talked to Polly – in the episode i could watch – like that. He never talked to Vicki like that. The young lady was mostly for Susan – his granddaugther – when she didn’t do what he says. Was he overprotect of her and sometimes didn’t take her serious. Yes, but this had many reason one is that refused to see that she has grown up. For him she will was be his little granddaugther.

Regeneration

The next think i hate is the Regeneration… the first one didn’t refused to regenerate. He accepted his fate. He knew he was going to die. He died because of old age. He was ready and Moffats just takes that from him.

That Twelfth doesn’t want to regenerate is okay. That i can live with. Than there is this nameless Captain that get involved in all that. And i just liked the idea that this captain was just some guy. At some point the first Doctor asked ‘why he so important’ and the answer was every is important to someone and i really liked this. But than in the end… he isn’t just one random guy. No he is the grandfather of one of the most important person in the Doctors life. Someone that new so many of regenerations and were so good friends… no random here… of course not.

Story with an anticlimax

The story was really weak. I saw the twist with Bill from start and i hate the idea of Testimony. The only thing i liked about it was that there was no evil master plan… i missed this. But Testimony can bring everyone and i really dislike that. We are more than memories. Sometimes you just has to let go of people. It is hard, but YOU have the memories about them. There is no need to bring them all back like that. But yeah we cheated death again… and we could bring back Clara… and Bill. Don’t get me wrong i love Clara and i love it when they bring people back like memories or they met again…

But i can live with the story and i can live with Testimony. Also i can live that Bill and Clara were back for the goodbye of the twelfth Doctor.

Unnessassary

What is way harder to live with is the whole unnessassary bunch of stuff… like Rusty… it so doesn’t make sense. There was so much more but i forget about it while i was writing this stuff… but in the end it doesn’t matter. I really, really dislike this christmas special… oh yeah Polly and Ben were unnessassary too… i don’t mean the original part. I mean the three seconds with new actor who looks totally unreal? Like they are wearing really bad wigs…

So yeah back to what i was saying in the end i am just happy that is over. I wasn’t a big fan of the the Doctor is a woman idea. But i am so ready for it now. She is a great actor and i can’t wait to see what Chibnall is doing with it. Maybe… Doctor will really become one of favorite shows again…

Granblue Fantasy The Animation – Season 1

Hey Guys,

like everytime after the Connichi i have a big Anime and Manga phase. This year it is mostly Anime. I started with Haikyu!!, than Yuri on Ice and Kuroko no Basket (yes i will write about them too). Than i landed on this one ‘Granblue Fantasy’.

Fantasy the way i love it

This story is playing in totally amazing fantasy world. They made a whole world that you have to explore which so much room for a lot of adventures and sidestories. I really miss such Series so much. Of course the story is like most times the mysterious girl that has mysterious powers and finds people who join her on her adventure. I love mostly the world and the characters about this show. The story is good but nothing amazing or new. A story we have seen in thousand different ways. But the character are sweet and caring and it is really easy to feel with them.

This is a game

I am not sure if this is a negative point or a the reason for the charm the serie has. But you totally know that this is after a game. The way the whole serie is built screams game. It is as if you would can every moment start playing Gran. I didn’t know before that this is after a game… but just the first few minutes and it was so clear. It reminded me alot of Final Fantasy to be honest.

Watching or not

I definitly hope that the second season comes soon. The story is okay and everything else around it is amazing. I always love to see the different cities and landscapes of a great fantasy world. So this is totally me and now i want to play this game. Also it made me play Final Fantasy 9 again. I love this game and i haven’t played with the PS2 for years.

Episode 13

Just a short note. The season has 13 episode but only 12 are really about the main story. The last episode of the season is a bonus episode and has nothing to do with the season before. It is set in the future of a retake of the story with Gran being a girl…
Why we don’t know… the story of the episode is unnessassary and of course they all have to be in bikini to do it… yeah i am not a fan of the last episode. But maybe someone likes the episode.

Lucifer: Season 2

Hey Guys,

welcome to the second season about the most screwed up family – only Mikaelsons are worse – welcome back to Lucifer. This season is totally a family drama. Lucifers mother escaped hell and Lucifer had made a deal with dear old dad. This family is really screwed up and that Linda is actually still dealing with all this is amazing. I love her even more.

New faces

We see new faces in this season. We get of course Lucifers mother and at some point Chloe says the more she hears about Lucifers dad the more she understand why he is how he is. That is right. This season we got alot of the family relations. Lucifers parents are really bad parents. But we not just met his mother we also got a visited of another brother of Lucifers.
But the best new face is definitly Ella. She is sweet and amazing. Really i love Ella the way she just got into everyones heart. How she goes for cuddles and how she accept Lucifer without even … i don’t know. I love her.

Watch it!

I want to write more but everything seems a too big spoiler. This season is funny and crazy in some points. Also it has alot of emotional scenes. We see Lucifer trying to deal with his pain. We see Chloe trying to be more… today my words are missing… aggressive in a few situations. We see new bonds form. We see Amaenadil with losing his powers, his believes. Linda has to deal with the reality and with the consequences of her decisions. They all have there demons and there story and they all grew so much. They came so far.

Lucifer: Season 1

Hey Guys,

because i don’t have enough series and amazon prime was having the advertising everywhere i started to watch Lucifer. Yes and four days later i need a new serie because i watched the whole serie. Somewhere in September as far as i know will come the third season and i am really excited about it. So yeah you probably can guess that i liked the serie. But i didn’t fall in love with the serie from the beginning. So here we go – just so you know i know nothing about the comics.

Luci

So Lucifer is the devil himself that took a vacation – with no intentions to ended it – on earth with his best friend and demon Maze he got to earth and built up a nightclub. When our story starts Lucifer is already 5 years there. What can I say about him? He speaks…i really dislike this way of speaking. But Lucifer is not a sympathic guy on the first look either. He is selfish and selfcentered and closed off. But most of all he is like a kid, a kid that tries to rebell against his father but in the end just wants his father to love him.
His attitude and his chemestry with the detective which he starts working with make the serie a amusing pastime.

God and the devil

But the serie got more than this. We didn’t get what acctually happend. Just that Lucifer doesn’t want to go back and want to play his father plan anymore. Than there is that one episode. It is with father Frank. The relationship in this episode between father frank and the devil himself is amazing. The way the talk about god and believes, about fate. How they got close to each other. It is amazing. The best his that the father Frank doesn’t change his opinion about god or did Lucifer. The discussed it and both still believe what they believed before. I really love that part.
Also i love the god is not the good one – not totally the bad one either. He is definitly a shitty father.

Go watch it

I love the serie. The humor is a little sex heavy but the characters are great it makes fun to watch them grow and grewing they all do. The Detective, Lucifers psychiatrist, his brother, his best friend and the detective Ex-husband. All of them grow over the serie and is fun to watch it. To go this way with them. I love it and think about it… is there devil sitting on your shoulders and tells you what to do… you decided and when you get to hell you will get your punishment for that.

DW: Reign of Terror

Hey Guys,
welcome back to the last adventure of the first doctor who season – Reign of Terror. Sadly to episodes of the story are lost. On the DVD these two episodes are reconstracted with animation. The fotoage is missing but both episode have the full-length audio soundtrack of the original. The animation is… I have seen why better animations. But the look of them are not bad. Just little passive? Just for information the missing episodes are the 4th and 5th.

The story plays in late July 1794. It tells us the Happings of the days before the 27th July. Ian finds out really fast that they landed in the France Revolution.

Welcome to France

I love stories like this. The Doctor and his companions are involved in this but everything would happen if they would be there or not. They don’t change history, they don’t save history or someone. Everything they do just is important maybe for the people around them. But the bigger picture is untouched by this. We learn about the down fall of Robespierre. There is so much information in this story about the history.
Also Barbara tells us something really important. Ian is quick to say ‘he deserved what he got’. Barbara points out that this is easy to say but not true. She makes clear that both sides have the right points. That you shouldn’t judge and with the knowledge they have the should know better. I really love her so much.

The End

This is the end of the first season of one of the most amazing series i have seen. I wish we would again get episodes like this. Episodes that just teach us about the History, about right and wrong and you time can change the view of it.

DW: The Sensorites

Hey Guys,

welcome to the next adventure in time and space with the story – The Sensorites. The Sensorites are an interessting alien race. In the future story ‘Planet of the Odd’ hinted at a possiblity of kinship. The story keeps place in the 28th centuary. There is no exact date give. In two of the episode we sadly has to do without Barbara because the actor was on holiday.

What is going on

The Doctor and his friends lands on a spaceship from earth. This Crew is in a ‘war’ with another alien race – the sensorites. The Sensorites are a kind race that didn’t know mistrust and murder. But when the humans arrive everything changes for them. This story is about fear and distrust and courage.

Susan and the sensorites

The Sensorites are a telepatic race and it seems like susan is very sensible in this kind of area. So she tries to talk with them. She tries to take the place normally the Doctor take. The Doctor doesn’t like it very much and i don’t think she is really good at it but you only learn by doing.
At some point Susan says that trust has to be earned and of course she is right but on the other hand why mistrust people how never gave you a reason to doubt them? Why is it wrong to trust? To have this trust in everything. In all the time before the humans came to the Sense- Sphere, there was no lying, no power fights, no murder. So why distrust his people?

Watching or not

I am not a big fan of the Sensorites and many things are very clear from the start. There is little in it to surprise us. But on the other hand is a solid story about what fear can do to a race. This story shows us how a race can change, how the human race brings out the worse in everyone. So yeah it is still a good story.

Tru Calling: Season 2

Hey Guys,

here we go with the second season of Tru Calling. The second season just has six episodes and no real ending. Sadly the second season took almost everything good out of the serie and than not even gives answers. So yeah i don’t like this season but it is not all bad.

Everything lost

After Lucs death Tru is working even harder to save everyone and Jack obvious is trying to prevent it. And here are we at the point that i dislike the most about the serie – and no it is not the absends of Luc. The season is about the fight between Jack and Tru. Sadly the stories about the victims became so much background that it really annoys me.
Than of course Luc is missing. But he is always part of the talks and stuff. So we never forget that he existed and that he was important to her.
But that brings me to the next part that don’t sit right with me. Lindsay was always part of Trus life. She was amazing and she always was just one call away. Now she got married – hated that part of season one – and is living in London – i think. We not ones see a phone call from her or a postcard – not even to Trus birthday.
I really hate it. Also they don’t talk about her. She is just gone and i really hate this.
But she has new friends now…
Also her big sister never get talked about again… did you forget that she actually had a bigger sister?!

So much hints…

The season is promising answers or at least we hoped she would. We know that her father killed her mother and that he is like Jack. But what is Jack and why does he think that he is the right one? Why does he knows rules? When the fater is still alive why has Jack now his abilities?
The father wanted to built a bond to his son so that he would go against Tru for his father. We never seen anything like it. We didn’t see a bond between them, we didn’t see the bond between Harrison and Tru ripping – nothing…
Is there a real reason behind all that. What price had Jack to pay for the death of Luc because his death was against the rules. Also when Tru saved someone she wasn’t supose to save what consequence would be there? We never see one – except that this guy really creeps me out after his survivel.

Highlights

The reason i still watched the show was Harrison. Harrison is still amazing and totally worth watching for him. Also there is one episode and i wished there were more episodes like this is the third or fourth episode were Jack got asked for help. We see a little more of Jack and what he thinks and feels. For the first time i liked him and felt with him. Jack starts overthinking his job. He thought of stopping…this episode was so amazing and i loved it so much. I really wished we could have seen more of that side of Jack.
