DW: The very best of the First Five Decades

Hi,

this weekend i found my new DWM in my postbox and the first think i did was looking what the others voted xP This Issue is not much in it between the votes an my favorite columns. So lets talk about the votes xP

The 1960s

Under the top ten are many Dalek-Episodes a thing i really like. Number 5 is the Invasion what was totally a awesome story, Jamie and the the Brig, for my it need nothing more. Also ‘The web of fear’ is on number 2 and it has also both of them in it. What i totally had voted in the top five would be ‘The Time Meddler’ it was an awesome story with the first Doctor and the Monk is a character i love to see more. Number one is  ‘The war games’ and i totally agree. This story was amazing. Jamie and Zoe are really beautiful companions and the ending of them are really sad.

The 1970s

Is not my time. in the Top Five are only Tom Baker things… i don’t understand the hype. For me there would be other episodes that where pretty amazing. ‘The Green Death’, ‘The Threee Doctors’ and ‘Doctor Who and the Silurians’. This are Stories for me. I love the UNIT Ära, but also Shada would be on my top five list.

The 1980s

This is not easy because everystory with the seventh doctor i didn’t watch yet. But ‘The Five Doctors’ would totally have a place on the top five list (theothers voted it on place 4) and Earthschock (number 3) would also be on the list. ‘The Caves of Androzani’ is an amazing story, but it is not one of my favorite. Which Story i liked very much was ‘Mawdryn Undead’

The 2000s

So my number one would be totally ‘waters of mars’. It was just perfect. Acctually i can go with must of it Dalek was really good and but ‘Midnight’ whould be number two. This two are not on the top ten in the magazine. What i don’t understand is ‘blink’. I like the episode, it is a really good episode with nice effects and amazing working monster (just in that episode i think, but that is a different theme). But i would never say it is my favorite story and i don’t get what everyone is seeing in it.

The 2010s

That is time i totally disagree with everything xP I mean ‘the name of the Doctor’ and place 5? Every bad episode of season 5 & 6 what i set before it. If we just see season 7 it was totally the best episode but no. But i am totally not a fan of season 7. The first part is okay but after that it was just bad… my opinion! The Doctor’s wife was not bad, but i don’t like it so much as everyone else. The same thing is it with ‘Vincent and the Doctor’ good episode but not more. So ‘eleventh Hour’ was totally not my episode and do we actually have to talk about place one? ‘The Day of the Doctor’? Never! Sorry, i am not one of the guys which dislike this special. It was totally the highlight of the season and the year and if it would just be a normale episode it would be really good. But for the 50th anniversary special it was just bad. Just really, really bad. It was nothing special. Just an ordinary episode.

So for me it would be:
1) The girl who waited2) The God Complex
3) Amy’s Choice
4) Hungry Earth

Favorite Doctor

Totally not my opinion  xP I will just write my opinion and behind it in brackets what they voted.

1) David Tennant (Tom Baker)
2) Patrick Throughton (Matt Smith)
3) William Hartnell (David Tennant)
4) Paul McGann (Patrick Throughton)
5) Christopher Eccleston (Jon Pertwee)
6) Peter Davison (Peter Davison)
7) Jon Pertwee (Sylvester McCoy)
8) Colin Baker (Christopher Eccleston)
9) Matt Smith (William Hartnell)
10) Tom Baker (Paul McGann)11) (Colin Baker)

I didn’t really decided if i like tom or matt more. But yeah, why is William Hartnell at nine? I love him so much. He is the reason i really started to look the classics.

Favorite Companion

There is just one thing. Sarah Jane on the top. Thats it, after that it is really hard to say but just let it stay like that.

Yeah just a little gibble gabble from me about the votes. Thanks for reading my writtings. If you want just let your opinion here.

DW: Beautiful Chaos

Sooo~
this book is also from the ‘New Series Adventure‘ and featured not the ninth doctor. This book is featuring the tenth Doctor (which is with two and one some of my favorite Doctors) and Donna Noble. I love them both and i love their dynamic. I am a big fan of the families of the companions. I loved Jackie Tyler so much and Donnas family is a little different. Yes i like Wilf but her mother is not really sympatic. But thats why i really like Donnas family and the stories with them. Their characters have a real depth and the book don’t disappoint as in that point. The characters are really well written. One of the interesting thing are the inside of the character of Donnas mother. This side we didn’t see very often in the serie. So from the characters it is really worth to read it.

The story plays with the knowledge of the character ark of Donna. So how don’t know who the story of Donna ends, should read the book and don’t read more of this entry.

The Prolog just starts with what we know. Donna didn’t know anything and Wilf is looking in the stars for a sign of the Doctor. Than the main story starts. But just the start creates a very emotional story and the end just hangs above our heads the whole time. So lets talk about the main story. To be honest it is a good story but not the best one. For me there are to many loose ends and just the story wouldn’t be really satisfying. Maybe it is also because it reminds me a little of the Sontoran Story – Poison Sky. But with the characters and all the emotions and so one i can overlook every loose end.

I really enjoyed reading it. One of the best Doctor Who book i read.

Good Night

DW: The Mark of the Rani

Good morning guys,
i just woke up. It was a hard day but it is a good start in the Day with the knew Episode of Doctor Who. Like a said i am excited to see it because of a new Time Lord and the Master is back. So two reasons to love it. But the first i have to say is how terrible Peri dress looks. What did the people think by this costume?

I like the Rani but my problem with the episode remain. They are not boring. They are good and the story interessting but i don’t feel them. I don’t have better words to describe them.

Rani is a really interessting character. She didn’t like the master and is also not big fan of the doctor but she totally can take both down. The actoress is also pretty amazing in her role. I really happy that we will see her again. Doctor Who needs characters like her. I want so much more of her. But yeah even after the second and last episode i didn’t get into the story… i didn’t have much hope that it will change this season. But the characters are pretty awesome.

So we will hear what the next story will bring.

DW: Dark Eyes 2 – The Traitor

So guys,

i am listing to the first part of Dark Eyes 2. Yeah, that would be really good.

The Story starts with a physician, who get called to an accident in a mine. It seems like she has something to do with the Daleks. She is named the traitor because the people thing she works with them and she is saying that she just do her job.

I am really excited to see how she will interact with the Doctor an maybe even with Molly. Liv isn’t really sympatic but a really interessting character and she is taff. She don’t get frightend when the guy threaten her, she just make a few ironic comments. Actually she is a person who knows how to handle problems and problematic situation. As longer the Story goes the more she became a really sympatic person. Who knows the adventures of the seventh Doctor from Big Fish, knows her too. She played in Robophobia. The Doctor knows her very well and like her.

I like the konstaltion of the group. The Doctor, Liv, who did everything to save people, to help them and the revolutionaries, who take that they need to make sacrifces. That is what makes it so good.

The Daleks thinks that the compation of the Doctor is an ally of them. Because they have power over him and the Doctor actually will always choose the lifes over the final destruction of the Daleks – or maybe not, because he sacrifesed Gallifrey in the end…

The End is a cliffhanger and totally can’t wait to listen to the next.

DW: the twelfth doctor

Hi Guys,

today i have read that Doctor Who is making a world tour. Of course my town is not on the list. But it reminded me that in august it is time for the new doctor. I am really excited. Peter Capaldi was gourgous in Torchwood Children of earth. That’s why i was not really so happy about him as the Doctor. I know that must actors have more than one role on Doctor Who and i don’t have a problem with that. But Peter had this big role on Torchwood and it is really hard not to see that person in me, because for me Doctor Who and Torchwood are one. This is the same universe and he was so gourgous. Maybe you understand what i want to say. I think Peter have totally everything what is needed to be the Doctor and i am pretty sure his doctor will be awesome.

First of all i am really happy that it is an older Doctor again. Matt Smith was much too young for me as the Doctor. So yeah i voted for a older one. Just hope that they don’t find some explaination for his role in Torchwood Children of Earth and the Doctor Who Episode Pompeji. I don’t one new big mystery about it. I just want the Doctor with out all this extra brig-a-brig (did you say that?) What i want is totally not a love story. I wish we had more companions in the TARDIS again. I want a guy again like Ian, Jamie or Thourlough. I want to see a great friendship without the flirt. I want to see history, fantasy and a lot of scifiction.

So what do you think about the new Doctor and what want you see in the new season? I would be happy if you share you opinions with me.

So have a nice evening.

DW: Vengenance on Varos

Hi Guys,

welcome to new adventure of Doctor Who with the sixth Doctor and Peri. It is totally clear that i am not a fan of the long episodes xP Also i am really tired an i get sleep in have of a epsiode. But i just now rewatch it. Soo what can i tell about this episodes?

It is an execution of a guy and his woman want to save him. The Doctor and Peri are stocked and he thinks that the TARDIS is without energy. So they will die in the TARDIS. The Doctor gets depressed and Peri has to bring him to find a solution. Of course they just came to the rigth time to stop the execution and save them. So he will became part of what happend on the planet. Everything seems really interessting. They are kinda part of a ‘cruel’ reality show?!

I don’t know how i suscribe what i think of the episodes. They are to long, but with interessting themes and characters but they don’t get my. It don’t carry me along?!  Like the idea with the reality show, because we are not really far away. Look at Big Brother and so one… so yeah but i just don’t feel it.

Maybe the next story… we will met another timelord ‘the rani’

DW: Festival of Death

So guys,
after yesterday a really beautiful day. It was 36° and i was swimming in the pool and lying in the sun with friends and ice cream. I have found at the nigth time to read the end of ‘Festival of Death’. So, hear my opinion of the book:

It is the fourth book of the 50th Anniversary Collection (Past Doctor Adventures) and is featuring the fourth Doctor (Tom Baker).

The first thing i have to say is that the fourth doctor was totally not my doctor. I was really really happy when i could start with the fifth Doctor. I love his companions but he never really got into my heart. So here he is travling with Romana. I am not totally sure what version of Romana plays in this book, but i think it his Romana II (Lalla Ward). She is totally more my thing than Romana I. Lalla plays her a lot more relaxed. We meet also K9 and really is there someone who don’t like K9?!

But lets talk about the book. The start don’t get me. There is the Prolog, with the what is going on effect. Than we have the Doctor and Romana, than we have the Nyanna part and so one. For my the start is to erratic and you don’t know what happen, why it happen and who the people are, the good thing about the book is the Doctor and Romana are as clueless as you.

Then you have this ‘Beautiful Death’ Event. It is interessting theme. But i don’t get the people are doing it. They die and than came back. So they can see heaven. I am sure that i will go past this attraction.

You have no clue what is going on in the book and than it goes really timeywhimey. So don’t get what is happen. They exist in two time streams and also are going again and than going again back in time. As i know now the doctor goes at least four times back in time to do things and to save the people he knows that they have to survive. I didn’t really make sence to me but i hope to the end every thing is logic. But i don’t believe it yet, because everytime you think are coming to an end and the Doctor is not going back in time again, he hears that he is.

The book just had theme that i find really unlogic with time travel. There is no starting point and that is kinda … unsatisfying… but Romana as also problems with this idea and that is a reason i can live with it. I like the questions that are asked her. They know who dies and can they do something to save them? Have they the right to save them? But are they kinda at fault with they don’t try it? But it is sad they don’t have much time with this questiones. They are mentioned and they say such things about life and the posiblity to change your mistakes.

At the end I would say it is not a bad book but they better ones.  If you like this timmey-whimmey stuff and circles of no real beginning and so on, it is a really good book. But i don’t like this style of stories. For me such things don’t make sense in the end.

But yeah for everyone else a real good book 😉

Have a nice day everyone 🙂

DW: The Stealers of Dreams

Hi Guys,
for me is nearlly midnight. So not look to close. After the disappointing book, i startet to read the next book of ‘New Series Adventure‘ with mixed feelings. I didn’t want to have to high expectations, but lets talk about the important things.
This book is featuring the ninth Doctor, Rose Tyler and Captain Jack Harkness. To take the main opinion first, i liked it.

For the most time all three are on their own. Jack is totally like we know and love him. He don’t need the Doctor to get shit done. So doesn’t Rose. Of course at the end of the day the Doctor saves everyone. But i think the book shown really good the strength and weaks of the the characters. Also it is one of the few books with really good secondary characters. They are not all sympatic but interesting.

The Story is not the best, but it’s kinda interessting. What fiction can do to us? Or what the absend of fiction do to us? That are the questions that came up in the book. Dreams are such a big and interesting theme and i like what they do with it. What is realty and what is a dream? I like how they play with it.  The end is a little bit hasted and anti-climatic. But on the other hand i can’t really imagine an other good end.

So yeah definitly not the best book but totally not the worst. I think it is a nice entertaiment.

Good night.

DW: Attack of the cybermen

Hey Guys,

welcome to a new Story of the sixth Doctor. It is the start of the new season – ähmm season 22. One of the big changes are the format. I liked the 25 minutes episodes. You find every day 25 minutes to watch a episode but 45 minutes are a very different thing.  So i am not a really big fan of that change.

Soo a new episode with a new Doctor and old enemys. The cybermen are not my favorite but i like them. They are not so different from the Daleks.

The Episode starts with a thing i really dislike. He repairs the chameleon circuit and really the TARDIS isn’t the TARDIS with out her shape of the police box. But it seems that it didn’t work like he want. So the TARDIS is changing it’s shape but not like it should. Than the tour in the past goes on. He call Peri names of former companions and they visited Totter’s Lane.

Cybermen are back and with them a other old enemy – Lytton. He worked for the Daleks and know is working for the cybermen. But i just don’t get really in the story… it just don’t get me.

So the cybermen entered the TARDIS, how ever they did it. But we see a new race. The look kinda interessting. Also it seems that Lytton have after plans. The Doctor is a prisoner of the cybermen and yeah… not my story 😉

DW: Dark Eyes – X and the Daleks

Hi Guys,

welcome to the last part of the ‘Dark Eyes’. So i am even more excited to hear the ‘Dark Eyes 2’.

So the Doctor is slowly seeing the whole picture. Everything is leading to the climax. Doctor and Molly get separate and she has a moment she can demonstrate her strength and the Doctor get help from a man Nadeyan.

Molly is totally a good character. She is a strong person and see things like they are. They are talking about trust, about sacrifice and what a good life is. Molly talks about her life and she want to do the right thing. She sees through the Doctor like she knows him. She sees his broken heart and everything she does is healing him without anyone is knowing it.

Oh and i haven’t said anything about the music. It is really good and emotional music. It is amazing what you can do with music.

The enemy is chatty like the most of them. A time lord against the other time lords and again the time lords interferring and i don’t know if they ever do something really good. But that makes them so interessting. They are a perfect gray. Are the better than the Daleks? Are they worse? That question is growning in us. The Doctor have a answer but do we have also a answer to that?

We are hearing the Time Lords tell Nadeyan what he done. But Nadeyan save Molly. He descide to be a better person and the time lords don’t really to understand it. Of course the Doctor understand but that is the Doctor we know.

Also we can see how people can change. We have a regeneration against regeneration and that is really amazing thing. If you will met your pastself what would it think of you. Would it like the changes you made or will it be disappointed. That is a really interessting question and a little bit depressing.

The End is a little sad and really good. Molly left the  Doctor to be where she belongs and the Doctor is alone again. But luckly she will be back in season 2. Because she is really amazing and i will hear more adventures with her.
