Torchwood Outbreak – Stage Two Prodromal: Love

Hey Guys,

welcome back to the second and amazing adventure of Torchwood Outbreak. The second episode is amazing and i love it. I am already listing to it the second time in a row. It is fun and dramatic. It just have everything i love about Torchwood and everything i learnt to love about Torchwood when Big Finish started.

Pretty Boy against Pretty Boy

The second part of the story of Outbreak is mostly about Ianto and Jack. Jack is infected with the virus and looked himself in but something got wrong and Ianto is no trapped inside with Jack. Jack has a few flashbacks and we learn that he knew Norton Folgate and seems to be responsible for the ‘virus’ the first time.
Ianto our pretty boy get the what-ever-protector to actually talk to the other pretty boy Norton Folgate.
Norton Folgate is an amazing character and is always fun. Norton is involved in the whole ‘Good-Thinking’-Projekt. The funny thing about all this is you never know if Norton is lying or telling the truth. We never know on which side he is on and that makes him so a great thing. You just don’t know what he will do next.

Others

Gwen doesn’t have a real role in this episode. I am sure that this will change in the third and last adventure. Like i said the most part is about Ianto/Jack and Norton. But we also got a little of Rhys and also Andi who gets himself in really bad situation. Of course Rhys tries to do something stupid.

Listing or not

Oh my god go and listen to this episode. Norton is a good reason to listen to it. He makes the story so much more fun. There is nothing i love more than Nortons unhelpfull coments.
Also it is a really amazing Ianto and Jack story. I got so many feelings about them. Sometimes the way the two love each other is killing me. Right now i have so many feelings about this pairing. Also my ship is sailing: Norton is asking for Andi.

Torchwood: Outbreak – Stage One Incubation: Know

Hey Guys,

welcome to the Torchwood Adventure ‘Outbreak – Stage One Incubation: Know’. I am so happy that i actually found the time to start listing to it. As many of you already know i am totally in love with Torchwood and even more with the Big Finish stuff. Outbreak is a adventure with three parts and also a full-cast radio play. It plays after the second season and before ‘Children of Earth’. So we have an adventure with Jack, Ianto, Gwen, Rhys and Andi.

Story

Like the name suggest it is about something that spreads like an epidime. We know not much about it. Just that one infected person got arrested by Andi and wants to talk to Torchwood. We all know that Torchwood is in Cardiff an open secret. This infected person seems to have killed someone because he is full of blood and he always asked for his wife – so i think he actually killled the wife about that is just what i think. Also the skin is twitching… and it spreads fast.

It doesn’t happen much in this episode. It is more of prologue were you got the feeling for the story and the whole action will be – hopefully – in the other two episodes. The episode is not boring far form it. Because we love all the characters.

Everyone gets their time

Gwen and Ianto are going to handle a few curios reports that escaleted pretty fast. We got alot of – i have problem finding the right word – snipping at each other like their were together.
Jack is going to the station and talk to the infected person. Jack gets to interact with almost everyone like always.
The amazing thing is that we got so little scenes not just about the story but about the characters. We got Rhys and we got Andi deal with everything. Everyone has their scenes.

Listing or not

It is hard to say more about the episode without telling to much. It is just Torchwood we love and the characters we love. So yes go and listen to it. The first part sets an interessting setting and i am really excited to see were they are going with that story.

Stargate Atlantis: Season 1

Hey Guys,

welcome to my opinion about Stargate Atlantis Season 1. I don’t know how often i already rewatched this serie but here we go another round. I watched an old McShep vid (here) which brought all the feelings about the serie back. I always was a big fan of the original Stargate serie and the original movie. But i never wanted to watch Stargate Atlantis. I already stopped watching Stargate at this point. In the first run i stopped when Daniel died or ascended. So i never get to the point were Atlantis came into play. But than Stargate Atlantis get aired after some serie i watched and i just let it play without really looking. That changed when i saw a episode that had the focus on the relationship between Rodney and John. These two made me addicted to the serie. So i didn’t started with the first season. But after i got addicted i started from the beginning and so let’s start with my thoughts on season one.

My all time favorite: Rodney McKay

Rodney McKay is my favorite Character on Stargate Atlantis. But i really love almost everyone on that damm show – later more. Back to the smartest person in two galaxies. This is of course what he thinks of himself and sadly it is totally true. What ever problem there is on Atlantis Rodney is the one repairing it. He is the head of the scienice department and also a part of Mayor Sheppards Off-World-Team. He is smart, annoying and totally freaking out about almost everything. But that is actually the best part about McKay. He is a scientist. He can’t fight and is not the most athletic person on Atlantis. He is afraid of almost everything. But everytime his team goes through the Stargate he goes with them. Everytime something bad happend he is trying to prevent it. Yes he is afraid but he always tries to defeat his fear to protect his team and Atlantis. Which makes him for me one of the strongest person in two galaxys. Somehwo with is not so charming personality he became friends with a lot of people. Other people may not like him but almost everyone is respecting him and know that he is actually the smartest guy in two galaxys. Nobody would ever tell him that of course.

The Team

The reason i fall in love with the serie was the friendship that developes slowly and become the greatest love story without ever getting acknowledged for that. These two (Rodney McKay and Mayor John Sheppard) fall into place right from the start. Rodney is mostly one step behind Sheppard. Sheppard needs a way to fight. Rodney is the one that gives him that. They just seem from the start to always be around each other. Everytime we see Rodney in the medic bay John is beside him. His eyes almost everytime fall to McKay.
But McKay has also an easy ‘friendship’ with Ford. Ford touches McKay alot or is in his personal space. They talk easy and snappy with each other.
The only one Rodney don’t fall easy into place is Teyla. I really need along time to get warm with her and that time she needs to get warm with Rodney. I think that in the first season she doesn’t have a high opinion about him and he has to earn her respect with hard work.
Ford likes Sheppard from the first moment. Just the whole team dynamic is briliant. I love every bit about it.

Colonel Sumner and Weir

When i watched Stargate Atlantis for the first time i really disliked Sumner and loved Weir. After watching the full serie and than rewatching it. Everything changed about these two facts. I really started loving Sumner. He would be a great head of military and would be excatly the one they needed in a situation with the Wraith. He had a good overside, a natural distrust against everyone and he liked Sheppard. There are this small smiles when he looks at Sheppard interacts with Teyla. He let all that stuff to him and remaind in the state ‘i look at it with distrust even when i like them’. He would be amazing in his job and i wished we had seen some of it.
Weir on the other hand i started to dislike. She is really bad at doing her job. I never saw it like that before i saw Carter in command. When you rewatch it she makes so many mistakes and it is okay. But i can’t respect her anymore like this with knowing everything.
It is okay that she brought Sheppard on the expedition without talking to Sumner – it is not the right decission but it is okay. But she should have made something really clear from the start and that is that Sheppard has to do what Sumner says. Yes she is the head of the whole expedition but Sheppard is military and so under Sumner. She always undermines his authority. Sumner should choose a team for a Off-world-Mission and he does. But without talking to him. She send Sheppard with him against his decission. She is doing that always. She accused the Athosians to be traitor because nobody of her team could be one. Sorry. That is not true and even it were. You could stop being so obvision about it. But when Bates is talking against Teyla for actually good reason in the last episodes everyone shoots him down. Bates is an asshole but not wrong.

Aiden Ford – spoilers

When i watched the first season for the first time don’t really get warm with Ford because in my head i know that i shouldn’t get attached to him because Ronon will be coming and i love Ronon. But that was wrong. Ford is so amazing and totally deserve to acknoweldged and loved and totally missed when he leaves Atlantis. He is amazing he is a good soldier. He knows what an order is and acts on them. But he always have his own opinion. He thinks for himself. He is good at what he does. He can stand is ground alone even when he is really young. But also he is one of the kindest people. He cares so much about other people about everyone on that mission. He is always for the fun and makes people feel better. This alone makes him for me a hero. But he is also always ready to sacrifice everything to protect everyone and Atlantis. He always jumps into the danger when it is nessassary but doesn’t do it so suicidal like Sheppard. No Ford will always decide to live when there is a way. This whole character was a freaking gift.
What got me must about his fate is that he really believes that drug makes him stronger. I know that is what drugs make you think… but i really believe he never saw how good he was. That he was so strong without the drug. That he doesn’t need that drug even a little bit. He didn’t survive this long off-world because of the drug – it may be helped him – but he survived because he was always good at it. Because he knows how to use his brain and how to fight. And even when i am really happy that we got Ronon, i miss him deeply.

So this are just a few thoughts about the first season. Now i start looking the second season.

DW: Dark Eyes 4 – The Monster of Montmarte

Hey Guys,

welcome to the second adventure of the Dark Eyes 4 Box The Monster of Montmarte. Again it is with the eighth Doctor and Liv which are now not searching for Molly but the TARDIS. So we are still in 1921 but they traveled to Paris. This story is bringing the first story into the whole Dark Eyes story. They are all conacted to a big story.

Welcome to Paris

Like I said before Liv and the Doctor are searching for their TARDIS. For that reason they split up to cover more ground in shorter time. When the Doctor met an artist which is telling him about the monster that is going around Paris and brings him to the Red Pagoda. Liv get followed by suspious peopel, which she of course notice every fast. They want to make a deal with her and the Red Pagoda is playing a role in it.
The Red Pagoda is like the moulin rouge and has this establishment something to do with the artists which vanish in Paris.
I can’t tell more about the story without spoiling the story.

Listing or not

I would say this is one of the weaker stories of the Dark Eyes Story. But Liv and Doctor have time to shine in it and go their own ways. The characters are nice and interessting. So it makes definitly up for the weaker story (it is still a good story). Also it makes sure to conacted the story of these box with the stories before. What makes the story so much better again.

DW: Dark Eyes 4 – A Life in the day

Hey Guys,

i finally got the fourth box of the Dark Eyes serie from the New Eighth Doctor Adventures, but know we can start with the first adventure A Life In The Day. It plays after the last adventure of Dark Eyes 3. Molly should be back in her right time line but still with Dark Eyes. This time is London 1921.

Alien

The Doctor is searching for Molly and is staying in London for that time. Liv is feeling quite alien, because everything is so different from what she knows. Like the coincidence the Doctor is finding trouble on his search. He visited Mollys old work place and find an man with serious problem. When he is around this man he find himself in a time loop for a few seconds. So he ask him to spend the day with Liv. When Liv and the man – Martin are around in the town. The Doctor and Martins sister Kitty are attack from people on the street. So everything is a mess, like always with the eighth Doctor.

Listing or not

The story is good and fun and everything a good story needs. Liv is still traveling with the Doctor they have a good chemistry. I still miss Molly. Molly is also the only thing that tells us that we are still in the Dark Eyes adventure. Apart from that it doesn’t seem like it is conacted to the Dark Eyes story. What doesn’t mean that it isn’t conacted, because so far every adventure were conated so i am sure that we will find the conaction to the other adventures apart from the search for Molly.
So yes this is definitly a go and listen to the story. But like you already know i always thing that Dark Eyes is one of the most enjoyeable stories so far.

Travelers: Season 1

Hey Guys,

i started watching Travelers. I am a big fan of Sci-Fi-Series. Maybe you guessed that already. The summary of the serie doesn’t really got me. I wouldn’t had watched it if it weren’t for my parents. My parents watched the serie and when i got down to get something to drink i saw a few parts of the serie. What made me watch it was a character – Travor. I think it is a scene in the fourth episode. He got question and just his whole way of answering the question. His voice, his pyschical speech and the words… were so intriguing. I fall in love in that moment and so i obviously had to watch the serie.

Plot

The story is nothing special. People from the future coming to the past to save the earth or the human kind. They do this with taking over the bodies of people that die. To be totally correct the took over in the moment of the death of that person. There is this one person that is the boss. You don’t know who he is or what he really wants just that he has plans and rules. Also he doesn’t like it if they do their own thing.
It is a plot you have seen a hundred times.

Characters

Like i said in the beginning i fall in love with Trevor and Trevor is the reason i fall in love with the serie. At the beginning he was the only one i really liked. Trevor is the technishion of the group and he is also the oldest in the youngest body. He is a sunshine. Really i love everything about him. He is sacrist and intelligent. He hates bullies and thiefs. He know what is right and wrong and he cares deeply. From my point of view he is the one that is in controll of most of the situations they are in. Like the episode i fall in love with him. I don’t want to say to much but the team got captured and the ‘fighter’ of the group should really be in controll of the situation but he really handles it badly. Trevor is the only one that actually is in controll of the situation or would have been if they would have let him handle the situation.
The ‘fighter’ combat specialist wakes in the body of woman that get hit by her boyfriend and have a baby. Which brings a lot of complications for her. But trust be told i never really get warm with her. She also is the lover of the leader of the team. The leader of the team is a ‘Hodge’- Guy (for everyone that knows Criminal Minds). Someone how cares for the team and became like a father figure. He is working for the FBI but isn’t doing such a good job. At the start i didn’t like him very much but he grows on me and like his wife that he have in the past.
Philip is the historien of the group that knows all the dates and numbers. He gets in the boby of a junkie. That is one of the reason i really find him annoying because he is mostly high, but when the story developes i start to like him too.
Marcy is the healer of the group. The ironic thing is that he is trap in a body were the brain is underdeveloped which brings alot of complications. She is slowly dying. She is one of the person many people love. She is nice and always wants to help and her relationship with David – her socialworker – is really sweet.
So everyone of them has to deal with their own little or big problems and between all that they have to save the earth.

Watching or not

Go watch this serie!! I need a second season. The plot is maybe not new and original. Sometimes you can say what will happen really good but the characters are amazing and you beginn to love them and wants to see how they try to get through their problems. You find yourself wishing them a happy life and forget that this is not what the get and i think they forget it too. You rule for them and their relationships. You want to see them save the earth. You want to protect them – especially Trevor. Proteced Trevor Holden at all cost.
So yeah please go and look the serie. A lot of question did get answered but some are and the next season could have a really interessting plot.

DW: Fear of the Daleks

Hey Guys,

‘Fear of the Daleks’ is an adventure from the Companion Chronicles – the second of the first season. The Companion Chronicles are reading books. Every story has a Companion that is the main part of the story. We get little of the life they are living after the Doctor and an adventure that took place in their time together. The companion the story is about is reading the story. This time it is Zoe Heroit and the second Doctor – Jamie is standing on the sideline.

Zoe Heriot

Zoe Heriot is one of the most amazing characters. She is strong in many ways and is a genius. She is way more intelligent that the Doctor and is not showing off. She never looked down on Jamie how is way slower in his thinking what also is because he cames out of a time the technic wasn’t developed that way so all that technic stuff is all new to him. But this is not about Jamie. How thinks this is a story were all characters have the same among of story is wrong here. Jamie is of course part of the story but he is really just a background character. The focus of the story is on Zoe.
My problems with the companion chronicles is that it is a reading book. I don’t think that many companions have a reading voice. Zoe is one of the better but not as gripping as of example the Brigadier. Which makes it not so easy to listen to the story but the stories in this serie are to good to not listing to them. Zoes is adventures also of an overlapping story. What makes here story even better.

They are still people out there…

That doesn’t here about the Daleks and know that they never work with someone with out turning in the end of them? It is always a surprise to me when an alien race is making a deal with the Daleks to reach their goals. But a part from that obivious dumb idea.
We have a story about two races that want to make peace. Of course not everyone is working for that goal. Zoe and the others stumble in a peace conference. Zoe and the Doctor became really fast pawns in the game of one of the people that want war to overthrow the people in charge. Everything is okay to still the hunger of power.
But he has not the guts to do it himself. He has a maschine which can controll minds and make a copy of you in a different place and take your conscious in this copy and controll it.
Why all this is actually necessary is not logic for me but i decided to just go with the story and not thinking about the complicated way to do this.
The one that he chooses to be the one for the kill is Zoe. The story is about how she tried to fight against it.

Listing or not

For me this is the weakest Zoe story i heart until now. The other i heart were Memory Cheats and Echoes of Grey which are both better. But it is still a Zoe story and this is still something good. So everyone that loves Zoe should totally listen to it.

DW: The Resurrection Casket

Hey Guys,

welcome to the 9th book of the New Adventure Serie The Resurrection Casket. I am happy and sad that there are only three books of Rose and the 10th Doctor left. I love these two together. But i also love to have Martha back. She is one of my favorite companions of the Doctor. But back to the theme at hand. This book is like already said with Rose and the 10th Doctor. The guys of AHistory place it around the year 3906 in the time of the Galatic Federation and would take place between the events of The Infinite Quest (an animated Doctor Who story) and The Pirate Loop (NSA#20). In this story are no idication when in the time line of the Doctor this take place. So i thing it plays after the book The Feast of the Drowned and obviously before the events of the TV-Episodes Army of Ghosts (Final of season two).

The big time of the pirates

Isn’t it one of the biggest dreams to be a space pirate. What kid didn’t wanted to be a pirate (i didn’t)? But many people in stories dream about it. About the freedom and the adventure that it will bring. In this story we will met such a boy. A boy who dreams of big adventures and treasures. But we all know that a life of pirate is more than adventures and treasure. A life of a pirate is about blood, death and fights. Every freedom comes with a price. Of course there is a legend of a big pirate and his treasure that got lost in the Zeg. The zeg is a zone in space where all that technic schnick schnack doesn’t work. Steam is the only mechanic that works there. We all know that behind story there is always a truth. So it seems that the legend of the dark shadow is true. If someone put the dark shadow on you, he will kill you.
In all that legend and stories the Doctor and Rose stranded. Because the zeg is also shuting down the TARDIS.

Reading or not

The story has is ups and downs. The first part is kinda boring. I mean Jimm the boy is sweet but he is so blind for the dark sides of the world that it is hard to don’t want to struggle him. At first i thought that the story is very obvious but in the end the twist make it worth it. It is just not like it seems. Even when i am pretty sure most of you can work it out before the Doctor explains it. But the second part of the book is fun. The travel group brings me joy and tears. Just a hint the story is about something i really love. The question what makes us evil and what makes us good. Are we born the way we turn out or can we change. So yes definitly go and read that book. I love it.

The next book on my list is ‘The Shadow of Avalon‘ because the next books of the New Adventure Serie are not bought yet. But yeah i am sure that it doesn’t take long to get them.

DW: Return of the Daleks

Hey guys,

welcome to the bonus release of big finish – Return of the Daleks. This release was given away with the adventure ‘Year of the pig‘ as a gift to the subscriber. It is the 5th bonus release and can be bought alone now too. It is adventure with the seventh Doctor and place in the 42th century on Zeleria (which is hinting at the story ‘Planet of the Daleks’. The Doctor is traveling alone but he is referring to Ace, Hex and Mel at the start of the story.

Doctor the side character

This story is a little different than all the others. It is not just playing over a time span of severly years without time traveling it is also a story were we follow not the Doctor around. The story is about Kalendorf and Susan Mendes. This are characters that are take place in other stories of Doctor Who – like the Dalek Empire.
They are the people that should orginaze the rebelion against the Daleks. But the Daleks made a pact with them and vanished for a long time before they returned.
The Doctor is there to warn them and later he will take place in a few actions. The sixth Doctor is a Doctor that sit few things out.

Listen or not

The story is good. I like it and it is nice to listen to it. I think when you hear the other stories – at one point i hopefully will listen too – it will be even better and would be give us a better inside in the characters. But truth be told. I would buy it. I got at a gift for the subscribetion and than it is amazing. But otherwise i would not listen to it.

DW: The Sandman

Hey Guys,

welcome to the 37th adventure of the big finish main range – The Sandman with the sixth Doctor and Evelyn. The story plays at the Clutch, which is a fleet that is always in motion in 27 century. This story is of the Doctor being the nightmare of a race he defeated in a war.

I am your sandman

For the Galyari the Doctor is a monster that is holding his hand above them. The picture and the story they have to tell about the Doctor show us a monster. But it is not just what happend long ago in the war. It seems like the Sandman took the children and kill them. The Sandman and the Doctor are the same thing. Or is it?
We see here a darker side of the Doctor and the sixth Doctor is totally the right Doctor to let you believe that he would be capable of doing horrible things for the right reason. This Doctor is ready to do things…he is the one that is the closest to the war doctor. Which makes the story interessting to thing about what the Doctor were and what is just a story or someone else.
How far would the Doctor go?

Listen or not

I can’t tell you much more about it, without giving to much away. In the story is a part were the leader of the Galyari is telling what the Doctor had done in the war. Later in the story the Doctor is telling the story again a little different. Which is a little annoying. Who reads more of my articles knows that i dislike stories like that. I am bored by always hearing the same story. But i am a fan of Evelyn Smythe stories and she is who she is – brilliant. So yes it is definitly a listen to it. The story is worth it.
