Lethbridge-Stewart: The Shizoid Earth

Hey Guys,

after my little confusion i read now the second book of the serie Lethbridge-Stewart – The Schizoid Earth. Unlike the other two books it is not referring to classic Doctor Who story. It stands alone and plays without much surprise after the second book.

Confussion

The story is really confussing and i can’t tell what it is about. We have three main strands of plot. We have the Brig. Theoretically he finds a bomb that doesn’t detonated with a passenger – a dead professor Trevors. Now comes part that confuses me. Because the second strand is with Anne Trevors and Professor Trevor finding somewhere else a simular ‘bomb’ but before they can make tests they got called back to search for Lethbridge-Stewart.
The third strands is a reporter that also got asighned to find the Brig.

Problems over problems

This mystery ‘bombs’ are not the only thing that is going on. Soldiers from the past appier the present. These soldiers are not aware of that. They still things they are in war. All three groups met some of these soldiers. But there is still more. The Brig is having problems remembering things. Also there seems to be problems with the year they are in. Everything is really mysterious. You really don’t know what is going on. So the story is working good. But the biggest problem is that the parts with the Brig are the shortest until the middle of the book. After that we got alot more Lethbridge-Stewart and the book good alot more interessting from that point on.

Reading or not

If go through the first half of the book, the good really interessting, emontional, still confusing but the question gets answered and i really fall in love with the story. So yes totally worth reading.

DW: The War Doctor: Agents of Chaos – Eye of Harmony

HEy Guys,

let’s get to the last adventure of the third box of Agent of Chaos – Eye of Harmony. This adventure is for me the hardest to listen to. It is about Helenya what she is doing and why she is doing it. In the last stories i liked her but here she is – i don’t know how to discribe it. So let’s just start it.

Sacrifices in the war

Helenya has lost her grandfather in the beginning of the time war. She is right that many people lost their lifes in this war and alot will follow. That is what war is about. Dead people…killing. Some wars have to be fought and other you don’t understand. The Daleks offer Helenya a way out of the war. A way to bring the dead back. A way to prevent the time war for ever happening. I understand that this is tempting but really doesn’t she know anything about the Daleks. Why would the Daleks prevent the time war? Or would they by just defeating the time lord, but this would mean alot more death in rows time lord. She most know that there has to be more behind it. Why is everyone always falling for the promises of the Dalek?

The real heros

The story is not the best not the worst. This is mostly what i think about all the adventures in that serie of the War Doctor. But this adventure have a character that i really fall in love with. It is a young boy that help the other in the adventure before and now is with the other on this battle TARDIS.
What makes this story so good is that we have the time lords that are fighting in a war. They resignated to what it means and are ready to make these sacrifices. Other time lords are at the end of there power and can’t live with this war anymore and than there is this young boy that knows so little about war and sacrifices and yet does know so much more about what life is worth.
This story shows us the different between the people and that is what it makes such a great story.

Listen or not

So apart from the fact that you need to listen to this story to get the end of the adventure before and listen to the next Box. I would say this is definitly a listen to it story. Like i said before it is not the best story but it are the little things that makes this story great. One of them is the young boy and the other things have all to do with him. So yeah i really liked the story.

Veronica Mars: The Movie

Hey Guys,

This is the end of my addiction of Veronica Mars. The serie got me with one character – Logan Echollos. In the first episode of season one it was Weevil who made me watch until we see a little more of the different sides of Logan.

Piz?

When i moved on, i fall in love even more with Logan and Weevil and until the end i hoped to see a friendship between them. But i also fall in love with the many other characters – Cliff, Mac, Mag, Vinny and even Lamb. Yes i loved him too.
One person i never get warm with is Piz.
Okay, many of it is just this name. Who calls himself Piz?
Piz is a really nice guy. So nice… and i really don’t want to write it because it is bullshit in a way… He is too nice. I believe that there is nothing like that but he is like that. Always nice and always accepting any choice. He is not a fighter. Of course you have to accept a no but if you really carr for someone you fight for this person.
Also I don’t like the way he acted when Logan was around.
But this is not the thematic of this article.

When the serie ended you left all this people you began to love and doesn’t know what happend to them. So everyone who loved these characters should watch the movie to see where they end.
We met alot of people again and see what their lifes became. What bugged me the most of Wallace as a teacher in High School. What happend to engeniering?

9 years later

What happend in the movie. The movie plays nine years after the serie. Veronica changed her life completely. She is one the way to become a lawyer and has a normal ‘boring’ life. This is so not Veronica. But that is kinda the point. When Logan gets accused of murder again. He calls Veronica for help and of course she came. This time she actually trust Logan what is a nice change.
But the murder is not the only thing going on in that town. The police is corrupt and plant wrong evidence and terrorize the poor people in town. Not the 09ners of course. We all know from the other three seasons rice people never comitt crimes.
I don’t want to tell to much. Sadly the Movie doesn’t really talk about ther organization Veronica finds out about. This would be really interesting.
But the story function. She is nothing great but works like the serie very well and everything else came with the amazing characters which all met at the class reunion.

What starts like a totally not Veronica Mars story ends like one and you know what ever happens now Veronica Mars is back and she is there to stay.

DW: The War Doctor: Agent of Chaos – The Eternity Cage

Hey Guys,

welcome to the second part of the Agent of Chaos – The Eternity Cage which starts at the same point the other adventure stopped. Heleyan, who works for Ollistra is telling the Doctor that Ollistra is captured by the Sontaron. Now the Doctor needs to help rescue her. Of course we all now the Doctor and is of course helping. It is amazing how much more he is the Doctor than some of the other Doctors.

Sontoron as part of the war

I don’t just understand that part. It is clear why the Sontoran want to be fight in this war. They just live to fight. If they want to be part of the war, than just attack one of the parties or both. Why do they need permission? Also the time lords and Daleks infollow every planet in this war but the Sontoran they just ignored? This bit is not really making sense to me. Sontoran will never be allowed in the time war… wow… good. Why is earth allowed to be part of the war? Maybe we can exchange this with them. Just thinking…
So we have the time lords, the Daleks and Sontoran all in one adventure and all three are trying to figth each other and maybe there is also a traitor in the mix.

Listen or not

It is obvious that you need to listen to the story when you want to listen to the other adventures of the war doctor. This adventure give us a few point you need to know for the next adventure. This box is like the first bound together. The second box were more stand alone than the stories now.
But i like this adventure because they point out something really good and it is a Dalek that did it. Who started the time war? The time lords that just fight to survive protect the time lines? Are they really? Didn’t the Doctor used them against the Daleks in the adventure before (The War Doctor: Agent of Chaos – The Shadow Vortex and what did they do when the Doctor to destroy all the Daleks before they became a threat…
That is why i always get back to listen to the War Doctor story. Because of this little things.

Beijing: Shichahai

Hey Guys,

welcome to the next station of my beijing travels – Shichahai, which is a famous scenic. It is a little like two worlds met. The Old and the new and mostly the tourist. It is an amazing scenic and fun to visited at day but the best way to walk around the lakes is the night.

Two worlds

The area is around three lakes Qianhai (前海), Houhai (后海) und Xihai (西海). The way around these lakes is full with little shops, bars, cafes, restaurants. You can almost find everything here. At light it is full lights and music and life. It is full of people and has just an amazing atmosphere.

But also this area has the best instand Hutongs. Hutongs is the name for the small alley with old houses. The look really beautifull i think.

Actually i think there is no more to say about it. Shichahai is something you has to see and feel not to read about.

If you want to visited Shichahai the simplest way is to just drive to the station ‘Shichahai’. This station is still in the built but can already be used. It starts at end of the lovermost part of the three seas and start with a beautiful view.

A silent voice (Koe no Katachi)

Hey Guys,

i want to tell you about the one Manga i bought on the Connichi that was for me the Manga of the year – A silent Voice. Normaly i don’t write about Manga. I don’t know if you can buy the Manga in your country, but i will inform me. So why do i write about this one, because this one is special. This one is breaking my heart, gives me hope and shows me how cruel the world is – how cruel kids are. This is not a fantasy, horror or scifiction it is not over the top dramatic. It is real life.

What is it about

It goes about a girl. This girl is really really strong – not in a physical way but in any other way. She is deaf. When we first met her in the story she is really young. She visit primary school and kids are cruel. She got mopped is a too soft word for it. The main actor is a young boy. He is weak and mainly just bored. When she came into their class. Everything changed. They had problems in lessions. Because she needed to much time to write her answer down in the talk round. Everyone in the class found special and thought that she was the problem. Also i must say that the teacher doesn’t handle her well. One of the teacher is making it worse because he make it seems like it is her fault.
So this one boy choose do to what everyone else was thinking. After he started mopping her everyone joined him. This is were the story starts. We follow these two people through her life. We see how she is dealing with what life is throwing at her and we see how he handles what he did to her.

This is about forgiveness

This story is not making him the bad boy. I mean i really don’t liked him very much obviously. But after he got the fault for everything that happend to her is life changed alot. He understood what he did to her and doesn’t know who he should life with that knowledge. When he met her again. We see they strength this girl has. She never gives anyone the fault. She doesn’t want to hurt people, she doesn’t want revenge. She has strength to forgive people. This girl handles life so much better than anyone else. It is so sad to see her sister and mother trying to protect her, when she don’t even need it. The way her mother treated her… and don’t understand how strong her daugther is. It is life in all his form. This is a story about a really strong girl.

DW: The War Doctor: Agents of Chaos – The Shadow Vortex

Hey Guys,

i started to listen to the third box – Agents of Chaos – of ‘The War Doctor‘ and the first adventure ‘The Shadow Vortex’. It plays on earth. The Doctor and someone else who goes with the name Lara get arrested in East Berlin 1961. What is of course suitable with east and west are in the cold war.

The nameless name

This story is a typical Doctor Who episode. In this episode the Doctor is so much the Doctor. The Time Lords (Ollistra of course) is sending him to earth to stop the Dalek invasion. When the time war started a few planets got protected by the time lords. One of this planets was the earth. That is the reason the earth didn’t take place in the time war. But this is now in danger. Because the shield around earth got weaken and the Daleks are taking advantage of this. They send some one who did everything for the right price and she is really good at her job.
The Doctor take one of the stazi with him on this adventure to stop Lara. It is just like the old times. But i promise you this is totally and with everything the war doctor and that makes it such a good story. It is was so the Doctor and at the time everything he hates.

Listing or not

Yeah i know i write everytime less. But the war doctor story are all in the same way. This one is a little different because it feels like on old doctor who story. But it is like all the others in this serie a good story and i would say one of my favorite so far. So yeah go and listen to it. The other two adventures will follow.

Veronica Mars: Season 3

Hey Guys,

welcome to the third season of Veronica Mars and Logan and her actually stay together and don’t break up in the first episode. Which makes it for me a great season. But i am pretty sure it can’t stay that way.

Epic LoVe Story

This season shows us how much they love each other and how great the can be when just work a little for it. It shows us how bad they are for each other. Logan lost alot in the the seasons before. He is broken and lonely. He needs someone that believes him, someone who trust him. But Veronica can’t do this for him. Logan needs someone he can protect but Veronica can’t give him that. She can’t trust. She is controlling and needs to see things with her own eyes before she believes it. She is strong and can’t accept real help. She needs the danger and jumps right in, but Logan lost so much already he can’t lose her too. The are so good together and at the same so bad for each other. The constantly are hurting each other.
But this is totally the season for me. This what makes the season so good.

Great Story

This season the big case is the rape that already became a theme in season two. The case as alot little sidestories. Sadly a few thematics didn’t get enough time. But it is a really good story with really bad guys and not so bad people doing really bad things. It has alot of gray characters and this is what i likes the most. Sadly the story doesn’t goes like all the other over the whole season. The last few episodes are showing us something bigger something i really want to know more about but we don’t get it. Sadly the second storyline is ending with the serie and doesn’t give any answers.

So except for the ending that was really horrible because this is no way to end a serie. The season is as good and amazing as the other two season and should be watched. Now i just have to watch the movie.

The Torchwood Archive

it is here The Torchwood Archive. I must say that i was a little disapointed when i saw the how small the CD is. The Cd box is really small and i also dislike the way the CDs are stored. But apart from this CD box is beautifull. It is totally Torchwood and embossed silver. Look at it your self.

What is Torchwood

This is a story about the History of Torchwood. The Basic of this story is that Jeremiah – just one guy from a future – that is visting the Torchwood Archive. He is there to shut it down but before he does it he wants to know what Torchwood and Object One is.
So he got lead through the archive by our love Andy which promised fun. But before that he also met hologramms of Ianto and Jack. Which give me so much feelings. This hologramms – more like computerprogramms – are so much like they original were.
But back to the story. Andi is leading him through to different scenes that are explaining what Torchwood is and what that Object One is. So we got scenes in different times and different characters. Some scene are really short others are longer, some seems so useless but everyone is amazing.

What we got

We got a story that i think almost everyone can listen and understand without knowing everything else, but it has so much goddies for the fans. Really got Captain Jack Harkness in his best form. We got Ianto Jones and we got both of them together. We got Gwen and Rhys. Also we have Suzie, Yvonne, Andi, Tosh and many others. Also we get my new favorite Character Norton.
But we got so much. We got an idea of what Tosh and Owen could have been. We finaly got a picture why Hopkins has killed everyone in Torchwood. Also we got a few Information about the Committee. We just got everything you need to love the story.

There is not one thing that i would change about it or what i would bad or could be better. It is just everything. You got the characters you love, get more background stories, hints future stories. One of the best thing was Yvonne scene were the Torchwood Archive couldn’t give information out because it is classified for Torchwood. I just can’t wait for the next adventure with them. The only thing i still need is Owen Harper back.

Listing or not

Suprise, suprise The Torchwood Archive is for me a totally listing too. I mean not tha i every said something else about the Torchwood stories. But none aless this is an anniversary celebration how it should be. It was everything in it. So go and buy this Cd and celebrated the 10 anniversary of Torchwood. It were amazing 10 years with amazing stories. So why are you still reading this, go listen to this story.

Class: Episode 1-2 (Doctor Who Spin-Off)

Hey Guys,

everyone i am sure heart about the Doctor Who Spin-Off Class. Actually i loved many spin-offs. Torchwood was an amazing and really crappy show in the beginning. The first episode was the worst i had seen in a while. As i remember correctly the first episode i liked was the fourth episode. I also loved Sarah Jane Adventures and i have to say here i fall in love way faster. It had an amazing friendship between Clyde and Luke and it had Sarah Jane. Some episode were way deeper and more horrible than Doctor Who and it didn’t even try to be such dark show.
So with all that and the fact that Doctor Who just lost so much for me in the past years, i was really excited about this new Spin-Off. I am not sure what to think about this serie but it did a lot right and also wrong.

Can a Spin-Off work with out the Doctor

Let’s start with the point i disliked about the first episode the Doctor. It is not the Doctor per se. I love the Doctor and i love Capaldi and he does a good job in this episode as the Doctor. But i think the Spin-Off would have worked fine without him. I hate the i make you to the protect of that rift… this is stupid and they are just teenagers. He is like ‘hey guys, aliens that want to kill you will come throw that thing and you will deal with it and protect the others. Use your heads.Bye.’ How stupid is that? They know nothing about aliens about aliens or how to fight them, how to get information about them. Nothing. UNIT, Torchwood, Sarah Jane they all had sources and stuff to figure things out… but teenagers don’t need any of this just use your heads?! Sure this is what makes this so bad…

The choosen group

I like for now everyone of that group especially Ram and Tanja and their friendship. Is it to much to hope that they just stay good friends? Tanja is the brain. She is intelligent and way younger than the others. Ram is the sportsman, which have to deal with a robotic leg. These two were be friends before all that stuff happend. I think they didn’t talk in school about when they are at home they are chating and talking alot. Than we have April the nice girl. She is dealing with that crap alot better than others. Because she has a great role model. She just accept that there are things you have to take because you can’t change them.
The last two are aliens. Charlie is a prince of a race that good murdered. He and this protector are the only ones that survived. He is the nerdboy that doesn’t know anything about the world. Luke asked his friends and Charlie is googling everything he don’t understand. The last of the group is Ms Quill. She is the protector or slave of Charlie. Even when i think she deserve punishment i agree with here that this is like a slave. But Charlie doesn’t treat her like that and she doesn’t act like that. So i don’t know what to think about this all.

What i don’t understand why Charlies boyfriend is not part of this group. He was there too when everything happend. He tried to help too and he was there when the Doctor tell them that they all now in charge. But it seems that he is just the boyfriend what excatly is a point i dislike about these two episodes. He could be part of the group and there is no reason why he isn’t.

Watching or not

The story is still needing time to find their way. The show is still struggling for what it wants to be, but i think every Doctor Who Spin-Off did that. So i will give the serie a few more episodes. Beside the episodes are way better than the start of Torchwood…
The characters are sympathic and you can really understand all of them. The serie make sure to make the characters believeable and loveable and does a very good job in my eyes with it. So it is for me a totally watching.
