DW: Dark Eyes 4 – A Life in the day

Hey Guys,

i finally got the fourth box of the Dark Eyes serie from the New Eighth Doctor Adventures, but know we can start with the first adventure A Life In The Day. It plays after the last adventure of Dark Eyes 3. Molly should be back in her right time line but still with Dark Eyes. This time is London 1921.

Alien

The Doctor is searching for Molly and is staying in London for that time. Liv is feeling quite alien, because everything is so different from what she knows. Like the coincidence the Doctor is finding trouble on his search. He visited Mollys old work place and find an man with serious problem. When he is around this man he find himself in a time loop for a few seconds. So he ask him to spend the day with Liv. When Liv and the man – Martin are around in the town. The Doctor and Martins sister Kitty are attack from people on the street. So everything is a mess, like always with the eighth Doctor.

Listing or not

The story is good and fun and everything a good story needs. Liv is still traveling with the Doctor they have a good chemistry. I still miss Molly. Molly is also the only thing that tells us that we are still in the Dark Eyes adventure. Apart from that it doesn’t seem like it is conacted to the Dark Eyes story. What doesn’t mean that it isn’t conacted, because so far every adventure were conated so i am sure that we will find the conaction to the other adventures apart from the search for Molly.
So yes this is definitly a go and listen to the story. But like you already know i always thing that Dark Eyes is one of the most enjoyeable stories so far.

Travelers: Season 1

Hey Guys,

i started watching Travelers. I am a big fan of Sci-Fi-Series. Maybe you guessed that already. The summary of the serie doesn’t really got me. I wouldn’t had watched it if it weren’t for my parents. My parents watched the serie and when i got down to get something to drink i saw a few parts of the serie. What made me watch it was a character – Travor. I think it is a scene in the fourth episode. He got question and just his whole way of answering the question. His voice, his pyschical speech and the words… were so intriguing. I fall in love in that moment and so i obviously had to watch the serie.

Plot

The story is nothing special. People from the future coming to the past to save the earth or the human kind. They do this with taking over the bodies of people that die. To be totally correct the took over in the moment of the death of that person. There is this one person that is the boss. You don’t know who he is or what he really wants just that he has plans and rules. Also he doesn’t like it if they do their own thing.
It is a plot you have seen a hundred times.

Characters

Like i said in the beginning i fall in love with Trevor and Trevor is the reason i fall in love with the serie. At the beginning he was the only one i really liked. Trevor is the technishion of the group and he is also the oldest in the youngest body. He is a sunshine. Really i love everything about him. He is sacrist and intelligent. He hates bullies and thiefs. He know what is right and wrong and he cares deeply. From my point of view he is the one that is in controll of most of the situations they are in. Like the episode i fall in love with him. I don’t want to say to much but the team got captured and the ‘fighter’ of the group should really be in controll of the situation but he really handles it badly. Trevor is the only one that actually is in controll of the situation or would have been if they would have let him handle the situation.
The ‘fighter’ combat specialist wakes in the body of woman that get hit by her boyfriend and have a baby. Which brings a lot of complications for her. But trust be told i never really get warm with her. She also is the lover of the leader of the team. The leader of the team is a ‘Hodge’- Guy (for everyone that knows Criminal Minds). Someone how cares for the team and became like a father figure. He is working for the FBI but isn’t doing such a good job. At the start i didn’t like him very much but he grows on me and like his wife that he have in the past.
Philip is the historien of the group that knows all the dates and numbers. He gets in the boby of a junkie. That is one of the reason i really find him annoying because he is mostly high, but when the story developes i start to like him too.
Marcy is the healer of the group. The ironic thing is that he is trap in a body were the brain is underdeveloped which brings alot of complications. She is slowly dying. She is one of the person many people love. She is nice and always wants to help and her relationship with David – her socialworker – is really sweet.
So everyone of them has to deal with their own little or big problems and between all that they have to save the earth.

Watching or not

Go watch this serie!! I need a second season. The plot is maybe not new and original. Sometimes you can say what will happen really good but the characters are amazing and you beginn to love them and wants to see how they try to get through their problems. You find yourself wishing them a happy life and forget that this is not what the get and i think they forget it too. You rule for them and their relationships. You want to see them save the earth. You want to protect them – especially Trevor. Proteced Trevor Holden at all cost.
So yeah please go and look the serie. A lot of question did get answered but some are and the next season could have a really interessting plot.

DW: Fear of the Daleks

Hey Guys,

‘Fear of the Daleks’ is an adventure from the Companion Chronicles – the second of the first season. The Companion Chronicles are reading books. Every story has a Companion that is the main part of the story. We get little of the life they are living after the Doctor and an adventure that took place in their time together. The companion the story is about is reading the story. This time it is Zoe Heroit and the second Doctor – Jamie is standing on the sideline.

Zoe Heriot

Zoe Heriot is one of the most amazing characters. She is strong in many ways and is a genius. She is way more intelligent that the Doctor and is not showing off. She never looked down on Jamie how is way slower in his thinking what also is because he cames out of a time the technic wasn’t developed that way so all that technic stuff is all new to him. But this is not about Jamie. How thinks this is a story were all characters have the same among of story is wrong here. Jamie is of course part of the story but he is really just a background character. The focus of the story is on Zoe.
My problems with the companion chronicles is that it is a reading book. I don’t think that many companions have a reading voice. Zoe is one of the better but not as gripping as of example the Brigadier. Which makes it not so easy to listen to the story but the stories in this serie are to good to not listing to them. Zoes is adventures also of an overlapping story. What makes here story even better.

They are still people out there…

That doesn’t here about the Daleks and know that they never work with someone with out turning in the end of them? It is always a surprise to me when an alien race is making a deal with the Daleks to reach their goals. But a part from that obivious dumb idea.
We have a story about two races that want to make peace. Of course not everyone is working for that goal. Zoe and the others stumble in a peace conference. Zoe and the Doctor became really fast pawns in the game of one of the people that want war to overthrow the people in charge. Everything is okay to still the hunger of power.
But he has not the guts to do it himself. He has a maschine which can controll minds and make a copy of you in a different place and take your conscious in this copy and controll it.
Why all this is actually necessary is not logic for me but i decided to just go with the story and not thinking about the complicated way to do this.
The one that he chooses to be the one for the kill is Zoe. The story is about how she tried to fight against it.

Listing or not

For me this is the weakest Zoe story i heart until now. The other i heart were Memory Cheats and Echoes of Grey which are both better. But it is still a Zoe story and this is still something good. So everyone that loves Zoe should totally listen to it.

Person of Interest: Season 3

Hey Guys,

now we talk about the third season of Person of Interest. It is hard to say if the season is better than these before but it is at least as good as the second season. We get alot of girl power in the third season. Shaw is becoming apart of the team. Carter is working on getting the head of HR. Zoe will be in these season two. Carter and Shaw will work together and we haven’t seen the last of Root.

Starting slowly

In the first episodes of season three is something missing. I can’t tell you what it is. I love Shaw and i love that she is part of the team now. She and John are totally rocking that show but i also love the relationship she developes with the others. But the first episode let me a little hanging in the air. But it get better and better again. In this season is so much happing and developes in a great story and let us question everything.
At the begining we are also back to number of the week scenario. Which is fun but also a little let down but the story developes into big story and that story is great.

The Maschine

The first season (poi s01) showed us that there is this machine and what it can do. It also shows us that there is more to it than just a machine. The second season (poi S02) shows us the machine changing. First we thought that it was under attack but it used that to develope further. The machine get set free. Everything changed but in the end nothing changed at all. The maschine is still giving numbers to all parties of the play.
So season three shows us a changing world. The fight against the parties is getting bigger and more dangerous. The season is asking alot of questions and i know that many people are not happy about the answer that Harold Finch founds for him. This is bigger. This season is not about the irrelevant numbers. It is about the bigger picture.
It let us question characteres and decissions they are made. This season will bring us to a breaking point and than looks if we stand up again. It is about trust, about guilt and about consequences.
That is what makes this season so amazing.

Watching or not

This question is totally irrelevant because this is a yes. The storyline and the characters are amazing. I cried so much this season. We see new relationships develope and there are a few great ones. There are a few things i dislike about this season. One things is something that happens between Carter and John that makes for me no sense, but i know out there are people who see this differently. The second thing is that i think that the should have made another episode between two particular epsiodes in the end. But the big picture of the season is still amazing and great. So totally watch this.

DW: The Resurrection Casket

Hey Guys,

welcome to the 9th book of the New Adventure Serie The Resurrection Casket. I am happy and sad that there are only three books of Rose and the 10th Doctor left. I love these two together. But i also love to have Martha back. She is one of my favorite companions of the Doctor. But back to the theme at hand. This book is like already said with Rose and the 10th Doctor. The guys of AHistory place it around the year 3906 in the time of the Galatic Federation and would take place between the events of The Infinite Quest (an animated Doctor Who story) and The Pirate Loop (NSA#20). In this story are no idication when in the time line of the Doctor this take place. So i thing it plays after the book The Feast of the Drowned and obviously before the events of the TV-Episodes Army of Ghosts (Final of season two).

The big time of the pirates

Isn’t it one of the biggest dreams to be a space pirate. What kid didn’t wanted to be a pirate (i didn’t)? But many people in stories dream about it. About the freedom and the adventure that it will bring. In this story we will met such a boy. A boy who dreams of big adventures and treasures. But we all know that a life of pirate is more than adventures and treasure. A life of a pirate is about blood, death and fights. Every freedom comes with a price. Of course there is a legend of a big pirate and his treasure that got lost in the Zeg. The zeg is a zone in space where all that technic schnick schnack doesn’t work. Steam is the only mechanic that works there. We all know that behind story there is always a truth. So it seems that the legend of the dark shadow is true. If someone put the dark shadow on you, he will kill you.
In all that legend and stories the Doctor and Rose stranded. Because the zeg is also shuting down the TARDIS.

Reading or not

The story has is ups and downs. The first part is kinda boring. I mean Jimm the boy is sweet but he is so blind for the dark sides of the world that it is hard to don’t want to struggle him. At first i thought that the story is very obvious but in the end the twist make it worth it. It is just not like it seems. Even when i am pretty sure most of you can work it out before the Doctor explains it. But the second part of the book is fun. The travel group brings me joy and tears. Just a hint the story is about something i really love. The question what makes us evil and what makes us good. Are we born the way we turn out or can we change. So yes definitly go and read that book. I love it.

The next book on my list is ‘The Shadow of Avalon‘ because the next books of the New Adventure Serie are not bought yet. But yeah i am sure that it doesn’t take long to get them.

DW: Return of the Daleks

Hey guys,

welcome to the bonus release of big finish – Return of the Daleks. This release was given away with the adventure ‘Year of the pig‘ as a gift to the subscriber. It is the 5th bonus release and can be bought alone now too. It is adventure with the seventh Doctor and place in the 42th century on Zeleria (which is hinting at the story ‘Planet of the Daleks’. The Doctor is traveling alone but he is referring to Ace, Hex and Mel at the start of the story.

Doctor the side character

This story is a little different than all the others. It is not just playing over a time span of severly years without time traveling it is also a story were we follow not the Doctor around. The story is about Kalendorf and Susan Mendes. This are characters that are take place in other stories of Doctor Who – like the Dalek Empire.
They are the people that should orginaze the rebelion against the Daleks. But the Daleks made a pact with them and vanished for a long time before they returned.
The Doctor is there to warn them and later he will take place in a few actions. The sixth Doctor is a Doctor that sit few things out.

Listen or not

The story is good. I like it and it is nice to listen to it. I think when you hear the other stories – at one point i hopefully will listen too – it will be even better and would be give us a better inside in the characters. But truth be told. I would buy it. I got at a gift for the subscribetion and than it is amazing. But otherwise i would not listen to it.

DW: The Sandman

Hey Guys,

welcome to the 37th adventure of the big finish main range – The Sandman with the sixth Doctor and Evelyn. The story plays at the Clutch, which is a fleet that is always in motion in 27 century. This story is of the Doctor being the nightmare of a race he defeated in a war.

I am your sandman

For the Galyari the Doctor is a monster that is holding his hand above them. The picture and the story they have to tell about the Doctor show us a monster. But it is not just what happend long ago in the war. It seems like the Sandman took the children and kill them. The Sandman and the Doctor are the same thing. Or is it?
We see here a darker side of the Doctor and the sixth Doctor is totally the right Doctor to let you believe that he would be capable of doing horrible things for the right reason. This Doctor is ready to do things…he is the one that is the closest to the war doctor. Which makes the story interessting to thing about what the Doctor were and what is just a story or someone else.
How far would the Doctor go?

Listen or not

I can’t tell you much more about it, without giving to much away. In the story is a part were the leader of the Galyari is telling what the Doctor had done in the war. Later in the story the Doctor is telling the story again a little different. Which is a little annoying. Who reads more of my articles knows that i dislike stories like that. I am bored by always hearing the same story. But i am a fan of Evelyn Smythe stories and she is who she is – brilliant. So yes it is definitly a listen to it. The story is worth it.

Person of Interest: Season 2

Hey Guys,

welcome to the second season of Person of Interest that is even better than the first one (PoI S01). Truth be told i am sitting here right now writting about the second season when i wait that the fourth season arrives at my home. So i hope i don’t mix the season up. But the serie made me totally addicted to it. I stopped watching everything else and wanted to throw my social life away (what of course i didn’t do). But let’s go to bussiness.

Not with out Harold

The first season ended with Harold in the hands of Root and John at the search for them. John asking the maschine for help. This is actually the main reason why i love the second season sooo much. We see so much of the relationship between John and Harold. These two and the cuteness of them towards each other is killing me. They are like a married couple and would do just anything for each other. To see the trust that John puts in Harold and the trust that Harold puts in John is amazing and is following us through the serie. This friendship is what makes this serie so amazing.
Also John adpoted a dog Bear – which is so a great new Team Member and i love Bear over everything – so these to take care of Bear together. Like a little family. Yeah i am crazy about these two.
Also we see a little more about the past of Harold and John. We will see that the lifes are more connected than we thought.

New characters

We not just get Bear as a new character. Root will be a guest that will be in the play for the season. Also will get the other character i thought the show was about – Shaw. Shaw is a great character but in season two i wasn’t such a big fan of her. I just didn’t care about her that much, but she grows on me every episode i watched and the most important point she loves Bear.
Carter gets a bigger storyline and can interact alot with John.
Lionel sadly is a little in the background, but we will see alot more about the team Lionel Carter. Which is really amazing too.
But we don’t just get more amazing characters. We also get alot more of the ‘bad guys’. We see alot more of the different groups that are acting with the maschine or want the maschine.

Don’t even bother with that question. I think everyone totally knows my answer to it. Nothing else to say… go and watch that damm serie it will get better and better.

Person of Interest: Season 1

Hey Guys,

yeah i know i am really late with watching this show Person of interest. Everywhere the pictures of Root and Shaw were hunting me. When the final of the last season aired, everyone was talking about how perfect everything were. So i thought why not. I quite like both actors of this too. So i thought hey i will look into it. It turns out, that it is nothing like i thought.

Main Characters

So i thought that these two woman Root and Shaw are the main characters of the show. To clear that up tumblr is lying. Shaw doesn’t even play in the first season and Root is just apearing at the end. So yeah the show is totally not about them or at least the first season isn’t. So what is this serie about. We have 4 people that are important in this serie and i love all four of them. At first we have that soldier guy – John Reese. This is not his real name but at the start we know not much about except that he was a soldier and that he is good at killing people but he just wants to help people. That is the reason why Harold Finch – mostlike not his real name either – hire him. Harold is good with computers. After 9.11 (for germans 11.09) the goverment wanted a maschine who can see everything. This is what Harold and his best friend built. This maschine sees everything. It can see terroist acts and murder. Everything that is planed in some way the maschine sees. Because there are so much crime on earth and also the goverment just cares about the terrorist, every ‘normal’ murder is going on a unrelavante list. After Harold lost everything he decides to take that unrelavant list and help those people with John Reese help. Later more to that.
The other two persons are cops. Joss Carter is a really good cop, who can connect John after the first meeting with alot of crimes. But John is like ghost. So she starts chasing him.
The other cop is Lionel Fusko. He is a corruped cop and John spared his life. After that Fusko is working for Finch and John.

The Maschine and other mysteries

Finch is getting a number from the maschine. This number is the social number of a person. He doesn’t know if the number is from the victim or the perpetrator. So they try and find out more about this person and protect him or his victims from them. But that is not what makes the show so good. What stands behind it does. We know nothing about John Reese or Harold Finch. But the friendship that is starting building between them, the chemestry, the truth and distruth in each other is giving the show life. Also of course the mystery of the past of both of them. Both lost everything in one way or another. Slowing step for step we found out more about these two characters. Apart from that Carter and Fusko are easy to read. There is not much about their past as secretive as it is with the other two. But it is a nice contrast. Carter is the cop that takes her job serious. She believes in her job and in the law. Fusko doesn’t. But both are just want to help people. These two make a great team. So we have two great teams.

Watching or not

For the first half of the season i would have said no you don’t have to watch it. It is nice but nothing more, but that the episode became better and better. The characters grow on you and you want to know what is behind all that. The second part of the serie is so good. I watched none stop until i could held my eyes open anymore. So yes it is definitly a go and watch this serie. It is amazing and the final of the season only promised a even better season two. Which i will start right now… no i don’t have a problem and i am not addicted to the serie… maybe alittle.

DW: Bloodtide

Hey Guys,

welcome to the 22 adventure of the big finish main range – Bloodtide with the sixth Doctor and Evelyn Smithe. The Doctor want to surprise Evelyn and brings her to the Galapagos Islands to met Charles Darwin. It a time (1835) he will evelope his evolution theory. The Silurians plays a huge part in it.

Evolution

Like i said before this is a story about Evolution and Silurians. The Silurians are like always trying to eliminate the ape-creatures. They want their earth back. The Galapagos Islands is a prison and this give the Silurians enough guinea pigs for their virus to eliminate the apes. In all that mess is Darwin trying to explain the behavier of the birds.
Evelyn is running around with Darwin and sees how he develope his theory. It is really nice to see her interact with one of her heros and to see Darwin struggling with his religion and convictions to come up with his evolution theory.

Nothing new

Sadly it is like every other Silurian story. The Silurians try to kill the apes. The Doctor and the apes are trying to stop them. At some point there is virus and death – a lot of death on one side. The story is not really surprising and you had it at least three times already… it is really sad that every story is so simular. This adventure is not bad writen or boring. It is solid story and amazing characters that made it fun to listen to it.

Listening or not

If you listen for the story and to hear something new, than don’t listen. If you want a solid story and amazing characters listen to it. The characters make the story interessting to listen to. The story is good just much surprising but it don’t think that this is nessassary to be an amazing story. The characters can totally carry the story.
